Strength:
Price, picture and overall appearance.
Weakness:
The curve of the screen. I found myself in much the same position as Rob. I wanted a new TV and shopped around for awhile and because of a strange coincidence I read the last review and recieved a free trial membership to BJ''s within the same week, so I thought it was fate that I buy this TV. I am currrently using the s-video jack and the composite video and they work fine. I have my Pioneer DVD player running through the s-video and digital cable using the composite video. I had no problem with this, so you may want to check it out or give RCA a call. I have to admit that I promised myself and to the not so friendly RCA representative that I would never buy a RCA product again, but I did. Many of you are aware of the problems they have with thier DVD players--basically they do not want to correct the problem with pixilization (sp?) and want to charge everyone $90.00 to buy a refurb that will do the same thing after about 90 days of use. Well, I thought that TV technology has been around for a long time and RCA has been doing it for years, so the TV should be all right, and after 6 months of use it has been great. The sound is good on most channels, but on some such as ESPN networks it makes a hissing sound. This may be something with my cable connection--beats me. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Very good picture quality.
Weakness:
None I could find. I wanted a big screen TV and would have preferred and HDTV, but with the uncertainty surrounding that format and lack of sources of programming i chose to get a "cheap" TV to hold me over a few more years. |
