Strength:

Good while it lasted

Weakness:

Piece of junk died too early

It just died, no warning or anything just one day (yesterday) it wouldn't turn back on.
Has been a great TV while it lasted and from reading the other reviews I guess I can consider myself lucky that I got just over 4 years out of it before it died.

No more RCA's for me, ever!!

Customer Service

Can't help.

Weakness:

As other have posted. These things die too easily.

Bought RCA 32f650 because of name & American manufacturer. Liked picture. Bought the extended warranty (3yr) but let lapse. 3month later turned on and blew up. Buzzing & smell of smoke . No control or power up. Seems I did well with 3yrs & 3 months. What a joke.

I liked all the inputs and the pic quality was pretty nice.

Exact same thing happened to me that happened to Richb, scrol down to see his review. My dad an ex-telvision repairman bought about $50 in parts to revive it, but still no dice. We decided anymore money spent on this would be money wasted. It just quit one day while I was watching tv, the picture was black and a loud buzzing started to occur everytime it was plugged in, just 1.5 years after i bought it. I'm getting a new Tochiba this week with a 4 year extended warranty. Damn, $500 all gone.

Strength:

Nice looking. Parental Controls. Front Panel Lock.

Weakness:

Workmanship. Quality of Product. RCA customer service.

Our previous TV had to be brought in to Sears for repair 4 times. Sears policy is to replace it at that point. That's how be got this TV. Worked great until 4 days after one-year extended warranty ran out. Remote 'receiver' in the TV doesn't work. Since most TV functions have to run off the remote, we can use only the port that was functioning when TV remote receiver stopped working. We're still working out the repair plan on this...RCA's web site says it will return emails within 3 days. I just emailed for the second time after waiting 7 days. We'll see how it goes...

Product Quality, Warranty and Customer Service

I purchased this product one year and four months ago primarily relying on the RCA name. That was my downfall. I didn't pay attention to the warranty (90days labor, 1yr parts, and 2 yrs on tube). My bad! I didn't look at any reviews. However to my defense there weren’t any when I bought the TV. I have since found that one in every seven RCA televisions will break, according to Consumer Reports and in the 30-36 inch television group the most unreliable is RCA. This product failed one year and four months after I purchased it. The screen flashed, went blank and a loud buzz could be heard. I am looking at $150 - $350.00 to have it fixed. RCA customer service agrees that a TV should last longer then 1.25 years but essentially says "Tough" it had a warranty. So if you decide to purchase this item, spend the extra money for an extended warranty

Strength:

Nice picture at times. Good looking TV. Price was good. VPORT thing works really well.

Weakness:

Damn purple colour on the tbe on certain backrounds. What up with that?

Well I bought this TV, because of the price and the Xbox Vport deal was an added bonus. When I got the TV home I noticed on a black or gray screen there was a purple distprtion on the left hand side of the tube. After bugging and moaning to my local shop they got me a brand new TV. The next TV had the same thing. It is really an annoyance, and should not be there but I have learned to live with it and am currently looking for an HDTV. The TV has a nice picture though when the distortion (or colour) can't be seen. It only happens on certain backrounds.
