Strength:

Sharp and clear picture

Weakness:

High pitched sound of tubes working within the TV.

The Samsung TXK2767 is a nice looking TV set. Nothing stunning or dramatic but a straight to the point no nonsense TV. My only problem is the constant and very distinguishable, high pitched and constant "Eeeeee" sound eminating while the TV set is on. Even with the volume turned down and the audio coming through my sound system, the "eeeing" still persists. I'm sure that my dogs find it disturbing as much as I do. That is my only problem with this product.

Strength:

Picture clarity, easy to use on-screeen menus, remote

Weakness:

None discovered to date.

I will admit that the price attracted me to this particular TV, however I am also pleasantly surprised at the overall performance. I have not experienced any high pitched sounds as described in another review. I am very hapy with my purchase and would highly reccomend this unit!

Strength:

S/video-16:9-16:9 and 16:9, audio and video OUT, 2X A/V in
plus front panel A/V in. Pre-set picture modes

Weakness:

No variable audio out-But s/video and 16:9 for $250 so what?

This TV was NOT on sale and still was only $250. I also got a 5 yr tube war. for $30. The best feature on this set is the 16X9 mode. This means that you can view 16:9 enhanced DVDs and the video from your camcorder in 16:9 without losing resolution. The picture mode setting is on the remote so you don't have to fumble with menues. The mode
switches back to 4:3 when you change sources. The strange thing about this, is that the salesperson did not even know it was there even though it is on the remote and it is not mentioned on the Samsung site. But "wide mode" is available on ALL of the TXK models down to 20 inch. Also note the TXK2768 ($350)has s/video and COMPONENT in. I also picked up Video Essentials for $27@Best Buys. After a little tweaking, the picture is great. I am a free-lance Broadcast Video Engineer and I can say that after adjusting, the picture is very good compared to monitors 3X the cost and that includes color balance and no "side" distortion.
Note: I did adjust some Servive Mode parameters (very easy to understand too)with a Service manual($25). Do NOT try this if you are not familiar-YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I would suggest taking it to a ISF approved shop (search "imaging science foundation") and they can do a "professional" picture set-up. One "ISF" shop I talked to said, they could do it as a "warranty service" at no cahrge, because they were a Samsung approved repair shop. YMMV

Enjoy
