Strength:
Value, feature set, size
Weakness:
No s-video, no pip, pre-set color/brightness are off I finally got tired of my old bedroom TV, a 10 yr old, wash out zenith. I wanted someting sharper, with av inputs and better color. But I didn't want 27" and I didn't want to drop to 20". I also didn't want to pay $499 or so for a 24" WEGA. Anyway there are not many quality set out there anymore at 25". But this Samsung fit the bill. 600 lines of res max with a digital comb filter, dark tube. Stereo with AV inputs f&r. The lack of s-video sucks but I don't realy need it in the BR. Strength:
Nice clear picture, multiple AV inputs and one output. Looks large for a 27"
Weakness:
Warped picture. Horizontal lines (the boards on televised hockey games, news tickers on CNN, etc) had waves in them. very annoying. looked like the center of the picture was "dented." I could have sworn the ad. said it had PIP, it didn't. Finally bought a DVD player, so I decided to upgrade my television set. After living with VHS for so long, I decided AV inputs was all i needed, so I was looking for a 27" with AV inputs in the back. After reading the reviews, and checking the prices, I picked up the Samsung at Best Buy. Similar Products Used: Traded the Samsung in for a Phillips. If I'm gonna lay down that much money, I deserve an un-warped picture. So far I like the Phillips much better. Same price as the Samsung but with S-video. |
