Strength:
none
Weakness:
many I bought and then promptly returned this tv.in my opinion it is worse than any tv ive seen and heres why:the picture distortion is above average, the color correctness is below average, but what made me return the tv is that you cant get the color right-when you get it right on one channel invariably half the other channels have so much color bleed its ridiculous(i tried the tv on cable and antenna).after watching the tv on and off for only afew hours total i went back to watching my 13 inch sony tv(it was that bad).after viewing many tvs im now almost definitely going to buy an rca.in all of the above complained about areas the rca tvs seem to be better than most if not ALL tvs on the market(partcularly picture distortion, color accurracy)based on my own viewing experience.you can get more info on the rca tvs from rca.com. Strength:
Excellent bang for the buck.
Weakness:
Can't think of any, I quess an extra s-video input would have been nice. This is a great set for the money. Front a/v jacks for easy hook up for your psx or camcorder. Variable audio outputs in the back along with another set of a/v inputs including s-video input. The picture is also above average for the price. Surprisingly sharp with good color. One little qualm, the factory brightness and contrast settings seemed a little bright, but the on screen menu system and the remote are very easy to use and I was able to adjust these settings to my taste. I can't tell you how the speakers on the set sound because I've never used them, it's been hooked up to my receiver since day one. All in all, great performance and features for the price. Strength:
Comb Filter,inexpensive (paid $320)
Weakness:
Geometric Distortion I bought this TV for my bedroom and have little quarrel with the picture except that images tend to bend at the sides of the screen. Color accuracy is excellent, brightness and contrast are good. Overall a good set if you don't want to pay a lot for a 27 inch set and don't care about the bending vertical lines at the sides. I'll be waiting patiently for the arrival of the wide screen direct view sets. Until then I can take its flaws. |

Strength:
Good price, front A/V jacks, simple menus.
Weakness:
Geometric distortion, color bleed, no degauss/screen reset While it's a dang good price at or around the $250 mark, you truly get what you pay for. The top of the picture bends inwards varying with brightness, with no menu options for geometric alterations (like pincushion). Although it isn't permenant, color distortion also happens on the same areas, whites look yellow, pink or green, and I can't determine the cause(No magnetic interference). Color definition overall is average; A decent, sharp picture while using S-Video. This model could have used a front S-Video jack. ( I believe the next higher model addressed this) A good buy for the price for someone wanting a decent 27", but there are definitely some better buys for slightly more money. Strength:
Easy manageability
Weakness:
Nothing that sticks out in my mind. This is a great set for the money. With Front a/v jacks for easy hook up. 2 additional audio outputs, one variable, in the back, and including s-video input(Needed for a DVD player). The picture is also above average for the price. Great color, and easy menu options to tweak it(if necessary) to your liking. Speakers on the set sound great for the TV. However if your into all the Sound stuff I'm sure you won't be happy until you've added the 6+ speakers. Similar Products Used: Zenith 27" TV |
