Strength:

Natural appearing picture, DVD picture quality is awesome, convienent component jacks, price.

Weakness:

I did notice (as another reviewer did as well) a 'gray' vertical streak towards the left 1/3 of the screen when the screen is all black. Sound quality needs improvment. No PIP!!

This brief review is for a Samsung TXN3275HF 32 Inch HDTV. (puchased Sept. 2003) Setup Info: Digital cable, progressive scan DVD player with component cables (Panasonic), 5.1 home theater. First of all, I did a lot of research on 32 inch HDTV's. My initial overall impression of the Samsung is good (I would give it a B+). Next to the Sony (which was literally hundreds of dollars more expensive), it was hard for me to tell a difference, and I felt the panasonic (32 HDTV), while it had a sharper picture and slightly better sound, I felt it suffered from red saturation (despite adjustments). The Samsung had a very 'natural' appearing picture. Playing a DVD in progressive mode is unreal - nothing short of spectacular! When I first hooked up my digital cable to the TV, the picture was awful (yes, I thought of returning the set), but I stopped by Radio Shack and picked up a cable signal booster (14db's) and now my digital cable picture is 'clear' if not perfect. Overall, for the money (825.00 @ Circuit City) I consider the 3275 to be a good deal for an HDTV capable set.

Strength:

Price.

Weakness:

Geometry, line doubler, no S-video on the back panel, bad color, blooming was out of control, ergonomic nightmare, etc.

Samsung TXN3271HF I needed a new 32", and this was the only HDTV that would fit in my entertainment center. It was dismal - there seems to be a defect in the screen technology or it's just horrible build quality, but as scenes would pan across the screen, they'd waver like a projector shining on a wrinkled screen. On top of that, the geometry was terrible - a square test pattern would look like a trapezoid. There were also streaks in the picture, running vertically at 1/3 space intervals, light on dark. Barely there, but noticeable on fade-outs in a movie, etc. The line doubler also was a POS, as all material looked bad, not just grainy cable, but normally pristine DVD's had a bad look. Bad color, bad geometry, bad distortion. I returned it and got a 32AF43 Toshiba, and it's by far a better TV. Not Hi Def, no, but so what. I won't get there for a few years anyway, since buying another $500 box for the privelege to watch programs I may not care about doesn't appeal.
