Strength:
Pricing: Same price as 36" flat non HDTV Design: Attractive. Inputs: DVI / 2 Component
Weakness:
Heavy. Not CableCard ready. Big. Analog Cable input: Make sure you have a nice clean cable run. This TV does a good job of showing just how bad analog cable tv can look. I keep this setup available for the babysitters(aka babybooming parents who don't like to use the receiver and set top tuner). SVideo Input via Cable Box: Since I just got this TV and the cable company needs 9 days to find me, I can't comment on the HDTV yet. The analog channels are acceptable, the extended basic digital channels show mpeg artifacts, but the hbo/encore standard digital channels look great. Almost dvd quality. Component Video - Progressive Scan DVD: I haven't had the opportunity to watch much dvd content yet, however the Star Wars Episode 2 city scene was tremendous! The neon signs and the city lights stand out. I will have a more detailed review after I watch The Fifth Element superbit DVD. Component Video - Xbox/PS2 WOW! So clear. It's like having a 32" monitor on my pc. The games that support progressive scan look great, the others, well, its like you are playing an original playstation. DVI Input: HDTV - News when I get the stb. Similar Products Used: Proscan 32" tv purchased in 1996. |
