Actually we purchased a 27" Sanyo Model AVM27D3 just before Christmas 2000.
Price was right for a young family budget($429 Canadian)
Sound is great(24 watts), speakers(woofers & tweeters) vertically down both sides of Picture tube. On screen menu is idiot proof.

The greens are much like RCA sets. Are they really Sanyo tubes or do they share the same tube with RCA?
Watch a golf match and the fairways take on a neon hue.

Bought it for the price, appearance, sound and picture quality (aside from the greens its colours are distinct, no colour wash). Looks nice, silver coloured cabinet doesn't show the dust. Remote takes a bit of getting used to ie. 3 arrays of channel numbers 1-4, 5-8 and 9-0-100.
Couldn't tell you if it has digital comb filters.
Does the job with confidence...so far.

This TV is great for $399. Color, picture, and S-Video inputs all great No complaints so far. The picture may not be as good as the $1000 Panasonic. But for $399, I can't tell much of a difference with broad cast TV. My DVD movies look great on this set. This the set to buy if you want the deal of the Millennium. I checked with Consumer reports and Sanyo has the best repair record. Go for it.

Probably the best value in TV's out there. The only thing missing would be PIP, but it is not worth the extra $200.00 for this feature.
