Strength:

Excellent picture, great sound, sleek style ;)

Weakness:

Very heavy, overpriced (when compared to comparable models), and SVM cannot be easily disabled

The Sony KV-24FV10 is an excellent TV. I'd say that the picture is about the best that you can get on a non-HDTV. Colours are sharp and vibrant, and the sound is very good, too. I use this TV mostly for DVD's and videogames. DVD's come out looking very nice and sharp (with an s-video hookup, of course), and the same goes for videogames.

However, this TV is not without its faults. It is very heavy (this particular 24 inch TV weighs close to 100 pounds!), and it is overpriced, when compared to equivalent TV's from other manufacturers. Also, Scanning Velocity Modulation (SVM) is not easily disabled, requiring either access to the Service Menu or pulling out the SVM wires in the back of the TV.

Despite these shortfalls (which cost one Star from the Value Rating), I'd still say the Wegas have the nicest picture quality. Just make sure you disable SVM at the showroom when you go to purchase the TV so you can see the great picture quality of this TV. ;)

Strength:

Remarkable Clarity. Excellent Geometary.Excellent Colour Fidelity. Great Sound. Lots of Picture Options. Snazzy Styling.

Weakness:

A little expensive, but worth it in the long run.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the very first people in Canada to own this model Wega TV. The first thing that struck me was the astonishing clarity and detail in the picture. Coupled with that is an excellent Colour Decoder and Comb Filter that really works.Images are stunning to say the least. I have only seen images this good on Professional Monitors in Studios. Sound is also excellent, with smooth Bass and detailed highs and a surround sound system on board that gives the illusion of a huge sound stage.I have owned this TV for over a year now,and it is on 13-15 hours per day. It has not failed in any area once. The new KV32FS12 has now joined my home and shares the same astonishing qualities of it's little brother,(Please read my Review under that model number). If you can raise the little extra cash for your TV purchase, you don't have to look further that the Wega 24" model described here. Highly recommended.
