Awesome picture !!!!
Weakness:
the degausing sound when you turn it on is a little annoying. This is a great t.v for the money i spent on it...i bought it used a cash and carry item from a rent-a-center. I do have one question though..My T.V says pip on the fron does that mean i have picture in picture? i have a sony remote but there's no option on it for pip.Other than that its a wonderfull t.v well, till i upgrade to the flat screen that is. Strength:
Very nice trinitron tube, excellent sound.
Weakness:
Popping sound when you turn the set on, but nothing besides that. For the price, this is a great set. I paid $399 for mine. Nice sound and picture. Good inputs. You can't go wrong. Similar Products Used: Hitachi, Mitsubishi. |

Strength:
Great Picture and features, easy setup.
Weakness:
cabinet is thin, the plastic flexes a lot. Loud buzz from degauss coil when first turned on. Preset color controls have heavy color level. I really love this set Great picture with lots of options. Sound is okay using the built in speakers but I elected to turn them off and run the sound through my audio system. It's what TV should have always sounded like! Nice remote that allows me to control VCR and DSS. Can't really tell any difference between the regular video in and S-Video. I have the VCR on the regular video in and the DSS uses S-Video. The loud buzz when the set is first turned on concerned me too. I thought something was wrong! A friend that knows about these things says the degaussing coil for the picture tube packs a pretty good punch. Being able to label the video inputs and TV stations on the screen is a nice touch. Paid $425 at Best Buy after Christmas 1999. I had considered sets made by RCA, JVC and Panasonic, but I am somewhat biased in favor of Sony and the good Trinatron picture. This set still has controls on the front of the set unlike some of Sony's other models which require a remote. I found the preset video controls to be a little heavy in the color level, for best picture manual adjustment is necessary. Similar Products Used: Zenith, and Panasonic TV's |

Weakness:
Makes a popping sound when you cut it on and off. This set completes my Sony home theatre setup it brings out the background colors of my Dvd movies and Dreamcast games superbly. The PiP also makes this 27 inch Trinitron a must buy. Also it is pretty dam good to Similar Products Used: Zenith, Rca |

Weakness:
none noted Good picture, noise from Degauss tube is alittle scary if you don't now what it is .. I didn't 'til I read these reviews. All around solid performer for the money. I also like the ability to go to the menu and change the picture settings from standard to vivid to movie. Similar Products Used: 27" Panasonic,RCA,Zenith |

Strength:
good picture, nice sound
Weakness:
setup without remote a real challenge Couldn't resist the price, $250 out-of-box. Nice colors, a little heavy though. Sounds good, not too deep nor tinny. Unfortunately, as it was an out-of-box purchase, we received no manuals (will send away for it), and the salesman gave us the wrong Sony remote!! Thus, we know how hard it is to do setups without a remote. Very time consuming and frustrating. (So, don't lose the remote!!) Tube is flatter than some, without going to Wega price range. We also looked at Sharp, JVC, ProScan, etc., but again, for the price, we chose the Sony for the features. Recommended buy. Similar Products Used: Sony, Zenith |
