Sony wega 30" 16:9 trinitron flatscreen crt. At $12-1400 this is the best $ to picture quality value out there. Sony quality build and reliability (i hope!). Current use is primarily dvd monitor, utilize cinemotion and proper width mode and your dvds will be truly filmic. On a wheeled av unit i roll it forward to within 6 feet at eye level and insta theatre. Sound quality best ive heard out of tv, and excellent if mixed carefully with stereo. Only annoyance is overscan - noticable enough that some dvds are viewed via dvd players reduction (magnify or reduce a great jvc dvd feature) and as noted elsewhere this unit is hefty - would have gotten 34" except i move quite a bit.. packing box can be rented out as studio apt
