This CRT as well as most SONY last generation crt sets have a very serious reliability problem. The problem involves the power board. The problem is very common: google "sony 7 blinks" and see how many models have this serious problem.

Strength:
PQ is wonderful, very sharp, detailed. 2 components in + HDMI.
Weakness:
Layout of some settings needs some work Huge and weighty as with any direct View HDTV. Had to purchase this to replace my 32" Samsung HDTV that died last week. This is pretty much the best 32" directview out there. ALWAYS buy extended warranty with expensive TV purchases! I learned the hard way. Out of the box, the set was pretty good. As with ANY tv set, it needed some calibration. Used Video essentials to tweak basic contrast, brightness, etc, then dove into service menu to adjust geometry, overscan, redpush, etc. 1 hour later, the image is beautiful. Progressive scan DVD, and HD are noticeable better then on my Sammy. Even cable via coaxial input looks VERY good. No doubt this has the best PQ of any 32" direct view.
