Strength:
Impressive sound, sharp and clean picture, sleek design, DVI input, remote well designed, many features, flat-screen.
Weakness:
Heavy (approx 176 lbs), a little pricey, doesn't do a good job of viewing sources with poor picture. Before purchasing the KV-32HS500, I had done some research and even personally tested several other HDTV monitors to determine which one would meet my needs. Needless to say, this one stands out beyond any other 32" direct-view HDTVs. Right out of the box, its sleek design literally took my breath away. Setup was a breeze and in less than 15 minutes, I was watching the NCAA on HDTV. The picture is sharp and clean, and the sound is impressively clear with awesome bass. The auto 16:9 enhanced mode is a nice feature that will almost double the picture quality due to more scanlines. The DVI input is great for those who have a HD set-top-box or for connecting to the PC because the signal is pure digital. With a DVD player like the Denon DVD-9000 connected through component video, all DVD movies just seem to come to life and look almost 3D...WOW! Speaking of inputs, this unit has a generous amount of 7 total inputs (3 S-video, 2 component, 1 HD-DVI, and 1 monitor out). For the price, it's definitely a product worth buying. The only thing I would consider over this is the 36" KV-36HS500 or the XBR. Similar Products Used: Samsung Dynaflat HDTV |
