Superb picture quality,ease of operation,price

Heavy!!!!,owners manual lay-out

For the past eight years my primary television has been a Toshiba Cinema Series 27". It's been a fine performer without a stitch of trouble. However, for the past two years I've been slowly updating my entire home theatre set-up and the Sony KV 32V42 is the final piece...for now!
I felt I did my share of reserch, comparing and contrasting
32" TV's via the Internet and In store comparisons. However, time & time again the Sony's picture always seemed superior. Unlike many of the other reviews I've read on the 1999 model the picture out of the box was good(although I did have Video Essentials cued, just in case). After set-up (which took longer than it should have due to cumbersome instructions in the manual) I was thoroughly impressed by the accuracy and vibrancy of the picture. I was even more impressed with the clarity of the picture provided by my Toshiba 3109 DVD player. The television's sound was acceptable but nothing worth getting excited about(this may be due to being used to the Toshiba Cinema Series TV, which boasts full front surround sound and a subwoofer). I'm extremely happy with my purchase (especially at $680). I will do a follow up in a few months after the set has been thorougly broken in.
