Garbage... plain and simple. When I got it home, I found that the tilt correction needed to be a full +5 to get the picture level on the screen. Then when the tube warmed up the picture pulled AWAY from the bottom right corner of the screen!! Completely unacceptable. When the techs came out they fixed it by making the picture WIDER and throwing off the aspect ratio. It has a great feature set in an SD TV at a good price, but the picture shortcomings are so severe it isn't worth $300. It's going back to the store.... |

Strength:
Decent contrast, no glare, great inputs, overall 7/10 image quality, looks great, excellent remote.
Weakness:
Slow start up, fuzzy and low image quality when using TV outlet signal. When buying this TV i kept in mind that it was much lower end in terms of quality than the HD sony's, but when i brought it home and played a dvd (using a $175 component cable)i understood then that not always does expense = quality. This TV is great for watching TV and even better with dvd. The colors are rich and vibrant with only half the scan lines as HD. If you plan on buying this tv, make sure your TV signal is either Digital Cable or Satellite, because normal TV outlet signal is horrendous and very fuzzy. Start up for this tv is a bit slow, and when u turn it on, it makes a big boop noise and after 6 or 7 seconds the image comes up.(the sony guys said its the FD trinitron engine which only occurs on the 36inch model). A great TV, get it if u can find a good price. Similar Products Used: Panasonic Tau, JVC, Toshiba, Sharp |
