Weakness:
The weight. Its big, bulky and massive. I love this TV. The screen is just massive. Good picture quality. I got digitalcable with it and never had any complain. Good buy! |

Strength:
Picture quality, menu features, and connectivity lots of inputs. Don't try to save money on delivery. Its worth off paying for delivery for this heavy TV set.
Weakness:
Weight, but I look it as its quality feature, better the screen heavier it gets. Plus how often TV set needs to be moved around. This is a wonderful TV set. I don't like the rear projection, so 36" was the biggest screen size available at the time. Picture is excellent. In beginning it had some picture alignment issue. Lines at the upper corners were warping inward. I called Sony, and they forward me to the authorized repair service locally in my town. They came next day in home to adjust the picture. They used special horizontal and vertical line generator that appears like a graph on the screen and used remote to enter in service menu using a password that is not available to consumer. Anyhow picture is perfect since. No problem. Sound is excellent on this TV set also. I have a very decent speaker system Canton and Jamo with B&K amplifiers and pre amps. But sometime I just use only TV speakers to listen TV. I use my speaker system only for watching movie or listening music. Only complaint I have with this TV is its paint on its silver cabinet is very poor quality. Control buttons up on top are good with little children in homes, or pretty much for all. Don't have to bend down or get on knees, but paint around that area is peeling off in minor scratches. I called Sony about this and they had no fix to it other than using a touch up paint. In my opinion if I use a touch up paint it would look more ugly. Other than that quality of TV set in respect of picture, features, audio is excellent. I like the convenience of multiple inputs. This unit is definitely heavy, and I always tell my friends that if some one breaks into my home, at least they can't take TV. Style of this particular modal is seems to me better than new modals with speakers on sides. It would be nice if it comes in traditional black color too. I looked all around the box and TV, but couldn't find where this TV is made. USA, Japan, or any other country. I always like to buy Made in USA item first if available. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
pip is easy to use. all features are friendly, even to my wife who thinks a menu is only in a restaurant
Weakness:
its a three guy lift. very heavy, very. i bought the tv to fuel the economy after 9/11. wanted a trinitron for a long time. i am impressed with the flatscreen and edge detail. i highly recommend it. it is much brighter than my 45" mitsubishi rear projection and the resolution rivals a photograph. Strength:
Flat Screen and Component hook ups....
Weakness:
Little pricey for a analog, but the Wega has a better picture then anything I have seen. Worth the xtra cash.... I was planning on getting a HD tv but did not want to spend a xtra couple of hundred dollars on something that made digital cable look bad. This tv produces a very high quality picture with digital cable. Dvd's are very impressive also with s-video or component hook ups...Recommend Highly for the person who does not want to go high def. Similar Products Used: Nothing that compares to the WEGA... |
