Strength:

Sharp clear picture. Vibrant colors

Weakness:

None that I can see

This set is simply fantastic. I have had it for three years and am still amazed. Unfortunatly, to get the most out of it (or any TV) a satellite dish must be used. Cable clarity is poor compared to satellite.

Strength:

The Sony KV35V35 has a sharp, clear, and vibrant overall picture. The audio quality is excellent (for built in speaker standards).

Weakness:

The only picture quality complaint that i have is that with certain sources, you sometimes notice jagged edges on horizontal lines(going left and right) - I believe this to be an artifact of sony's Velocity Modulation Scanning circuit, which varies the scan rate of the picture in order to produce sharper edges without adding picture noise.-I believe the jagged edge problem to be a downside to this technology. note: in sony's new Wega tv's, you can turn this feature "off" or on "low".

This is generally a very good tv(better quality than any of my friends tv's),

Had this TV for 2 years and have never had a problem with the excellent picture. Setup with my other Sony components (50ES recevier, 550D DVD, AD4 DSS) is a joy.

Strength:

Vertically flat. No problems.

Weakness:

Overall picture is to cool wluish tint. Too dark at times, Adjusting to compensate results in excess bloom. Comb filter reveals dot crawl.(better sources help considerably)

Wil replace(retire to brm. system) wWega36xbr which sells for about the same price as I paid for this set in 97. It may be unfair to rate this set unduly because it has been auditioned mostly via cable. Lack of naturalfilmlike colorhue & insufficiant comb filter is main reason for upgrade.

Strength:

This TV has the best picture I have seen when the Cable Co. is sending a good signal. Love all the input connections on the front and back. You can hook up antenna, cable. vcr and still have more input jacks left over for things like a video camera and S-Video.

Weakness:

The only thing I do not like about this TV is this: When watching sports, especially basketball games, the lines on the court are jagged when the camera goes across the court diagonally.

The Sony TV ( KV35V35 )has two shelves in the built-in cabinet. I have a vrc on one shelf and a cable box on the other, so the connections were very easily done throught the provided slot in the back of the cabinet, It is easy to hook up multiple accessories, like the speakers from a sound system, cable, sat. TV, VCR, and still have input jacks left over for things like watching a just made movie with a video camera. The front A/V jacks make this very easy , without having to crawl around to the back. It also has a neat feature that allows you to have several different custom settings for things like brightness/ contrast/color/sharpness,etc so u can change from sports to movie mode with the push of a button

Similar Products Used:

Before this TV I had a Sony 19" Trinitron that had an excellent picture for almost 20 years without ever needing any repairs. That is the main reason I went with Sony when it finally did die.
