Strength:
Picture quality, styling, price.
Weakness:
None unless you are set on flat screen or must have S-Video. I have been researching 20" flat screen TV’s for the past six months, and the old 19" mono Zenith color just went out so I was motivated (by the wife) to buy a new TV ASAP. I thought I needed a flat screen and S-Video, and then I saw this 20” Toshiba 20A42 sitting between two Sony sets priced $110-160 more. The 20A42 picture was nearly as crisp as the Sony's, even though the tube on this model is not flat, and not a dark picture tube. I just could not justify spending more to get a flat screen model when compared to this model, so I brought it home. The power cord was shorter, the case deeper and wider than the old set it replaced. Once I powered up the TV, I added the supplied batteries to the small remote, pressed menu and the auto program configured cable channels. Be sure to buy a RCA cable for Audio (red/white) and Video (yellow) to get the best sound (stereo) and picture from a VCR or DVD component.
