Strength:
Component video, falt screen, top notch image quality
Weakness:
remote It was either this or the more expensive Sony Wega. Well after 20 minutes of side by side comparisons, I had to go with the Toshiba. The picture is amazing for this size screen. The flat screen puts out super sharp display with very vibrant colors. The sound is also decent for this size range and putting BBE on is a must for quality sound. Whats special about it too, is it has component and s-video inputs. Component(the best possible image connection)are rare for these size screens. But the tv puts out amazing image quality when connected to component or even s-vid. After receiving a Sony PlayStation 2 this holiday season, I really needed something to complement it for its games and dvd movies. So after alot research and side by side comparisons, I made the decision on the Toshiba and I dont regret it a bit. The only gripe I have with it is its remote. A tv of this calibur deserves better and they put a reset button the remote. Thats silly becuase if you accidently press it once it resets all the settings of the tv. I just bought another universal remote for the tv and its alot better. But I recommend this tv to anybody who wants a 20' set. Cant be beat. Similar Products Used: Wega |

Strength:
Flat screen, excellent sound, excellent picture, numerical settings, lots of inputs for the size TV
Weakness:
I really, seriously don't think there is any, only though, the reset button on the remote resets all ur settings and it doesn't even tell you. I had bought a 20" JVC TV and liked it, but it had a buzzing sound. I got it at x-mas and then returned it on Monday, Martin Luther King Day. I was planning to get a philips at another store, so he showed me this toshiba, and instantly, I fell in love with it. I brought it home and couldn't believe the sound and picture. I thought besides the old GE, the REALLY OLD GE, and the 27" Panasonic Panablack, this was te best TV in the house. My Playstation 2 is hooked up to it and it is excellent. I did notice the red side a little , but putting the brightness a little higher drowns that out COMPLETELY. Look, if your looking for a smaller flat screen, this is definetly the one, or their similar 24" flat screen. the 24's model # is (24af41). Anyway, it says in the book the "beside the screen" speakers are 2.5watts each, they sound much more, when some bass comes on at a louder volume, you can hear them travel their maxium distance but thats not a big deal. the bass can be controlled. That is all that I have to say. Get this TV people. Go to a store and try it. THANKS TOSHIBA!! Similar Products Used: JVC 20" |

Strength:
Flat screen, great cosmetics, S-Video Input, Component Video Input, BBE Sound, 2 other A/V inputs and front A/V inputs. Smart sound to reduce dynamics at night, numerical adjustments, excellent picture and sound.
Weakness:
No picture in picture. Color temperature adjustments. EASILY THE BEST 20 INCH TELEVISION! Compared to Sony's Wega and both were very nice. Toshiba has the S-Video and Component video Input for DVD player connections for maximum picture quality. The best $300 I ever spent. I am having difficulty in faulting this model? The S-Video performance with DSS is fantastic. I am positive connecting a Toshiba DVD player with Monster Cable 3 Component cables will tickle me with joy. I was really impressed with the sound. Turning on BBE really enhanced high frequencies. Another name for Smart Sound can be turned on to reduce dynamics if you are trying to sleep. I love the flat screen for side viewing. Cosmetically, this tv is sharp. I love making adjustments with numerical values, that is a plus compared to Wega. I do wish it had temperature settings. A front S-Video input would have permanently put this television in the electronics hall of fame. For $300, you will be hard pressed to find a better television. Similar Products Used: Sony Wega |

Flat Screen Tube.
Weakness:
None that I can think of.. It all started a while back, when my 36" SONY TV just decided to crap out on me. One day, it just stopped working all together, It would try to turn on, but could never make it on all the way.. Similar Products Used: Sony Wega (20"). |

Strength:
All in all, I don't think you can get a better 20" picture for twice the money. Perfect resolution, great color (a tad red, but not to noticable), good sound with the BBE enhancement, and more inputs than I have ever seen in a tv this size. Components AND S on a 20"? shweeet! I was truly amazed to find all of this in a flatscreen 20" of this quality for under $300.
Weakness:
A tad red and the geometry is off a little. I only notice this geometry problem on letterboxed material where the black mattes bow slightly from right to left. Awesome picture and features for the money. Similar Products Used: Sony 20" |

Strength:
Flat-screen picture, excellent visual quality, packs mighty features for its size(Component In,S-video In, 2 sets of A/V), pretty good sound
Weakness:
None Since my TV shorted out, causes still unknown, I had to go out and buy a new one. Since this is the new age, I opted to get a new, technology advanced TV, not just an ordinary one, so I looked at the Toshiba 20AF41 model. When first sight of this TV, I immediately fell in love with it. The design is well thought out, quality made aswell. The TV visuals were equally stunning, very clear and crystal. I didnt see any of that dithering effects that I usually see in regular TVs, thanks to the 3-line digital comb filter that it features. With configs adjusted to my liking, the picture was top notch, just as good as the Sony and JVC models. The sound was pretty good aswell. When I got it home, I immediately hooked up my PS2 to it with Component cable and the picture was unbelievable, very impressive indeed. TV shows were way better than before, more lifelike. DVD movies were very, very nice...almost felt like I was at the movies watching it. Another good thing was the price I paid for it, which was pretty low than I expected for a TV like this. Im very happy with my purchase, hopefully you will be too if you decide to get it. Similar Products Used: Panasonic 20" PanaBlack |

Strength:
Amazing clarity, vibrant colors, stylish design, accurate sound, and many others too numerous to list
Weakness:
Are there any? Needed a smaller TV with outputs to accompany a home theater in a smaller setting. This fit the bill perfectly. The flat screen makes the images jump out at the viewer, in full clarity and with an amazing array of colors. Three inputs mean great versatility, the outputs are a godsend, looks stylish in silver, cheaper than a Sony Wega & just as good if not superior. I think the remote is fine, and the glow-in-the-dark buttons are a nice touch. The sound is fuller than most for TVs this size, and the picture is tremendously customizable. Strength:
Cheaper than similar sony model.
Weakness:
Havent found any yet! I bought this tv with my employee discount at Best Buy where i work. One of the reasons i bought it was that it was a flat screen which i like. Another reason is it is cheaper than the Sony flat 20" model. Also, the sony doesnt have as many inputs in the back as the Toshiba, and i'm pretty sure it doesn't have component outputs, which is a big plus. Similar Products Used: I work at best buy so i can spend a little extra time checking out each unit. The Toshiba was hard to find in stock when i purchased it, but i think its a lot better than the sony |

Strength:
Reasonable price, component video and S-Video inputs, BBE sound, pure flat screen, 3 line digital comb filter.
Weakness:
No S-Video input on front of tv, remote doesn't control DVD players, This is one of the more expesive 20" tv's. The only other 20" tv's that cost this much are the Sony WEGA's. However, they offer less features, but cost more than this Toshiba. I think that this unit is the best 20" on the market right now. Heck, no other 20" even offers component video inputs. Also, the build quality is also quite good. In order to appreciate the video quality of this unit, you have to hook up a DVD player through the component video inputs. The picture is very nice. However, make sure you properly calibrate the picture settings using a Video Essentials or similar DVD. On a side note, this tv may not be for you if you plan on viewing it from more than 5 to 6 feet away. Similar Products Used: Sony, RCA, etc. |
