Strength:
Tube, Inputs, value.
Weakness:
None without going much higher in price. Nearest competitor is Panasonic at more than $100 higher for less inputs. Unit is replacing an old 25" RCA VHS combo unit for a "game" room. Researched and shopped all the major shops before deciding on this one, here's why: 1) FST Tube (listed in the manual) 2) Coax, S-Video, Composite and Component inputs. 3) Pretty nice remote compared to others in the price range. 4) Sound could be adjusted to liking, others in price range had narrow range of discernable tone control. This was for a PS2 and Dish Network setup, with the money saved from this unit I could afford to use the Component PS/2 cables. Screen is beautiful. had to turn Sharness down to between 30 and 35 (set at 50 at factory) to take the white "blooming" out, crystal clear now. Strength:
Overall picture quality, price-performance ratio, build quality. Remote is acceptable.
Weakness:
None so far. Good value. Replaced a similar level Sony that went elsewhere. This set has more video inputs (3 total), including S-video and component video. Picture quality is first rate, sound acceptable. Using it in a secondary system with older Pro-logic receiver, VCR and Sat system (with S-video). Color balance is nice. As usual, factory contrast is set WAY too high. Similar Products Used: Sony |

Strength:
Sharp picture, Channel Labeling, component video inputs
Weakness:
Doesn't provide labels for A/V inputs Excellent deal for the price. Picture is sharp and clean for a tube TV. This is the lowest model 27in tube-TV, so the audio is lacking (but I have DD receiver I use). |
