Strength:
Size, clarity, and funtionality.
Weakness:
No Front inputs and weak speakers I was looking for a rear projection at first, but I realized the architecture of the living room didn't compliment one very well. So I began the search for a 36". Starting off with a Wega I got used to budgeting for a $1800 set. But I realized that was awful steep for a 36". Per Consumer Reports I looked at Toshiba, and for the price, I believe you get the most for you duckets! Similar Products Used: Sony Trinitron |

No way to turn speaker off, White lines in pictures I reasearched 36" TVs forever trying to find the perfect model. I enjoyed my Toshiba DVD player and figured the 36A60 would be a perfect companion. I have to say however I'm am not inmpressed. The 36A60 is actually a replacement of the 36A50 I bought originally and sent back because of annoying white lines in the center of the picture. Most noticable when there is a light background in the picture and there is vertical panning. The 36A60 I recieved to replace the 36A50 hasn't fixed the issue. I still have these lines of differing contrast towards the center of the tube. It drives me wild. I can't believe that 2 TVs would produce these same results especially when I read the glowing reviews the set gets on this site. I have tried adjusting the settings with Video Essentials and still no improvements. If anyone has any suggestionis please e-mail me. I am not saying I wouldn't buy a Toshiba TV but I would really like to know what me issue with them are caused by. Similar Products Used: Panasonic Superblack 27" |

Strength:
Great color, component input, great picture
Weakness:
Remote, fixed audio output I was researching for a month on what t.v. to buy and the Toshiba 36A60 just kept coming up for everything I was looking for. I got rid of my Sony (which wasn't all that), and got the toshiba. What a difference! Granted, the Sony wasn't a Wega, but it was still decent. I looked at the Wega's and this set seemed just as good, if not better (for about half the price). Very recommended! Similar Products Used: Sony KV-32S66 |

Strength:
Vivid color, accurate flesh tones, 2 tuner PIP
Weakness:
Sound lacks bass, but at 36 inches you should have Home theatre for movies. I spent soooo much time researching on a new 36. I started looking at the Sony Wega but the longer I thought about it that price was not looking too good. Then I saw the Toshiba 36a60. It was comparable to the WEGA's and for the quality I was getting $979.oo was a good deal ( came with free stand at Best Buy )I did not know what to expect when I took this monster home (about 180 pounds). I mainly bought the TV to watch DVD's but when I got the cable signal through I was impressed. This got even better when I connected my new Toshiba SD-2150 DVD player (open box @ $179) using monster cables. The DVD signal was amazing. Watching "Gladiator" on the 36a60 is truly something to see especially if you are very specific on picture quality(duh) Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Picture clarity is superb with Directv coupled with DVD.
Weakness:
Have not found any! This Toshiba model, being used as a monitor, has the picture clarity I was looking for at a most FAVORABLE price. I rank it second to Sony's Wega in the non HDTV Similar Products Used: Toshiba 27 inch in our den is also of the same quality picture. |
