Strength:
Price and brand quailty. Good picture and I have had time to mess with the PIP feature, which I like.
Weakness:
Who cares about PIP? Sound quality sucks, but I don't use it anyways. Attach a surround sound system instead. I have had no trouble with this television set for over 1 year now. I do have problems with the color while watching DVD films, but that's more likely related to my DVD player or Monster cables. Otherwise, this TV has served me well. Of course, if you can get the 36" TV then I'd highly recommend that over a 32". I couldn't see spending the extra US$200 for my own luxury, otherwise it was a difficult choice to go 32" instead of 36". Everyone recommends 36" for wide screen viewing. I have compared and there is a slight advantage in view space that I don't get with my 32" Toshiba. But oh well, I'm not THAT picky, I'm just starting off in life with my own money. I'll buy the biggest and baddest monster screen in the future when I make my first million. =) Similar Products Used: None. First one. |

Strength:
Excellent picture quality, CV Inputs, Terrific Value
Weakness:
Sluggish remote w/cable box, can't PIP swap between coax and RCA/CV input devices This set is a terrific value. The picture and color quality is excellent and the DVD/Component Video connection provides the best picture I have ever seen. Colors literally jump off the screen. I watched "Something About Mary", and found myself admiring the picture definition and color more than Mary herself! Similar Products Used: Mitsubishi 50" Projection |

Strength:
Great Picture. Plenty of Inputs. Quality Build.
Weakness:
Remote, Glare, Speakers. I really cannot complain about the picture especially through DVD component inputs and the S-video. The settings are not right, you will have to play around in the menu for awhile to get the tint and all straightened out but that is not that hard. I am aware of that noise that comes throught the tv when there is not volume or no audio signal. If you have something playing through the speaker then it goes away. A TV liek this is meant for a home theatre anyways so the speakers arent a big deal. Compared to the JVC the picture is way better even with my cheap radio shack wires. The JVC had interference from the TUNER when i had it on S-Video but this one is clean. The remote could have been better but you can always go buy another. I got this sucker for 475$ So i consider it a great deal. Why are they discontinuing this model when there is no sign of toshiba releasing the new A40 and A50 series in 32"? If you feel sony is a bit over priced for their TVs but want an equally as good Picture Tube and Television then take a look at toshiba. This is more than enough to hold you over til HDTV. Great color..
Weakness:
When putting on vcr you hear a loud noise, and can,t put audio in for dvd from remote , you have to go to the tv and hit audio/video tv. Does anyone know another way to do this. This picture is as good as my friends sony picture. The reviews in one of the audio pages rate the fst picture tube as good as sonys, and they are correct. The sound is not very loud at top level, but i can live with that. The picture tube to me is not that rounded like some people have said ,but then again we all have our own opinions on that.Till digital come down in price this unit will do just fine.
