Difficult to find on display for comparison. Why aren''t typical retailers carrying them?! Although the set is self described at 1080i, I am not sure if all progressive formats are covered (480p,540p,720p)....

Very nice set. After doing all the research this tv seemed to have the best of all features currently available. The DVI is nice, but I have not found any other products supporting it yet (DVD, etc.). Performs very well, still getting a handle on the different features. Units at cgelec are refurbished (shipping is up to $300), so I was weary of purchase - set seems fine though.

Just recieved this TV, which was purchased without ever having seen one in action. All I can say is WOW! This is an upgrade from a 32" Sony Wega, and the difference is amazing. The geometry is very nearly perfect, the colors are rich and vibrant, and the progressive scan is wonderful. I''ve not even calibrated the set yet (I want to give it a good week of burn-in time) but out of the box, the picture was terrific. I had looked at the Sony XBR HDTV series, as well as the Panasonic 36" HDTVs, and I would rate the JVC as better than either. Another benefit to the JVC is that should the DVI format become the standard, the JVC is one of few sets with a DVI input - so you are set for the future. All in all - highly recommended.
