With the rapidly dropping prices of high definition LCD’s and Plasmas it’s more affordable than ever to outfit the many rooms in your home or office with these high quality displays. But how can you do that without spending additional money on more computers, DVD players or other HDMI video sources? This issue can be tackled easily with the use of HDMI Splitters.
HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. The HDMI Splitter, which is a compact audio/video connector interface for transmitting uncompressed digital streams, can be used to duplicate and split the signal from your HDMI source so you can watch it on two or more HDMI displays. Typical HDMI splitters are available in 2, 4 or 8 port configurations, but can be cascaded for larger digital signage applications. More complex HDMI Matrix configurations are available as well.
HDMI supports video and audio over a single cable, any TV or PC video format, including standard, enhanced and high-definition video, up to 8 channels of digital audio and the Consumer Electronics Control signal. HDMI splitters enable HDMI connections to multiple HDTV displays and supports HD resolutions 720i, 720p & 1080p. The HDCP compliant latest Version 1.3 HDMI Splitter units are ideal for digital signage, home theater & other video splitter applications. These splitters provide a flexible distribution hub that can accommodate multiple displays when two or more HDMI splitters are connected to create a larger distribution. There is a wide range of 2, 4, 8, 2×2, and 4×4 HDMI splitters and HDMI Matrix units. In addition, the 4×4 HDMI Matrix Unit provides remote access and control via TCP/IP.
