Attendees to premier hi-fi show get chance to demo award winning Digital DrivePLUS and new EQ-Max subwoofers
Morgan Hill, Calif. – October 5, 2011 – Velodyne, the world’s leading manufacturer of powered subwoofers, will offer attendees to Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2011 an up-close and hands-on demo of its range of high performance subwoofers, including the award winning Digital DrivePLUS and new EQ-Max series.
The Velodyne DD+ produces the industry’s lowest distortion bass and utilizes newly engineered drivers with twice the extension of their predecessors. Using Velodyne’s patented digital high-gain servo technology and a Class D, patented Energy Recovery System (ERS) amplifier, delivering over 3000 watts of dynamic power, the DD+ produces under 0.5%, with a 4.5 to 6 dB upgrade in output from the previous Digital Drive Series.
Digital DrivePLUS offers multiple ways to manage bass performance with real-time feedback using Velodyne’s proprietary room management software. One touch of Auto-EQ+ completely automates the seamless blend of subwoofer, system and room. Or it can be manually set up by connecting a laptop with the sub’s USB port, allowing the user to control eight fully parametric equalizers for smooth, even bass output. Crossovers, slopes, subsonic filters and phase can be adjusted for the primary settings as well as for the five presets while getting feedback in real-time. A third option to calibrate and fine-tune the subwoofer’s response is to connect the DD+ to a TV screen. The sub even offers set up controls on the front panel including volume, crossover and Auto-EQ+ with instantaneous feedback shown on a front panel LED display.
Velodyne’s EQ-Max is the first line of subwoofers at its price-point to feature remote control operation and built-in processing that enables users to maximize bass performance with the simple touch of a button. Available in 8â€, 10â€, 12†and 15†models, the budget-friendly EQ-MAX’s rich feature set and advanced technologies combine to deliver high performance bass without the typical complications of system calibration.
Velodyne’s EQ-MAX subwoofers are easily integrated into any home entertainment system thanks to the digitally controlled five-band equalizer. Users simply place the subwoofer in the preferred location, place the included microphone in the desired listening area and push the “EQ†button found on the included remote control. The built-in equalizer takes over utilizing Velodyne’s Digital Signal Processing (DSP), automatically calibrating the subwoofer to deliver optimum bass performance that is unsurpassed.
Attendees to Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2011, held October 14-16 in Denver, Colo., can take in demos and learn more about these products by visiting the Velodyne exhibit in room 8025 on Level 8 of the Marriott Tower in the Denver Marriott Tech Center.
