The Sl 9000 is got to be one of the best remotes That I have come across..It was so easy to program..It operates everything that I have..Denon receiver, Pionier dvd, ect..The great thing is that it will do secondary functions.. adjust the color tint bass treble on tv.. dvd it goes to the menue options..this is a good feature to have.. Just punch in the code and good to go..If you don't like the way it's set up.. you can change it and put it any place on the remote. its a learning remote..I have seen it on the internet for139.00$ but I bought mine on the internet at JD ELECTRONICS for 99.00$ WOW!! |

Just purchased the baby from Martron Video & Electronics ( www.isdaho.com/matron/) for $135.00 shipped. I can't say enough about this product. It controls everything. If your like me and have well over 4 remotes, this will take the place of them all. Outstanding product!! |

I recently purchased this remote, and I can't agree more with the previous person. I love this remote, and it has replaced every single remote. Small investment for asthetic points. I honestly believe that a system only sounds better when it a pleasing environment. I highly recommend it. |

I'm going to buy this remote over the Marantz RC2000 because of price and batteries comsuption. I check around the net and found that a lot of RC2000 owners complained about its voracious consumption of batteries. Also, the price of the SL9000 is less than half the RC2000 ($249). Mine cost $99 + Shipping. |

I bought the SL-9000 wen it first showed up at my local audio store. The first two experienced lock up problems. What happened was when the backlighting buttom was hit the light would stay on and not cut off....all night and into the morning. Secondly when changing the source button, the remote would flash the selected source on the screen then default back to receiver source. The first one locked up after 2 weeks of usage, the store exchanged it for a new one. The new SL9000 locked up after 2 months, in both cases new batterys were tried first. By this time a second shipment of SL-9000's had come into my local audio store. I am now on my third one without any hitches for close to 7 months. I chalk up the first 2 to early production run problems that any new product is bound to experience. I like the remote very much. It excels at controling all eight of my different components. I would have to give this product four stars for early production problems, but five stars for value in a do everything remote that even my friends can use. |

I have had this remote for about 2 days now. It is in the middle of my remote selection. I have a Marantz RC2000 controlling my home theater, the SL-9000 controls my Dolby Digital system in my family room and a Xantech URC-1 for my bedroom system. The SL-9000 has pros and cons. One big pro are the preprogrammed codes. This is a big timesaver. It does control an awful lot. Things like menu control and PIP are standard. One thing that I dislike very much is the limited macro ability. Both of my other remotes have far superior macro capabilities. If you don't care much for macros than this is a great remote. I have to give it a 3 mostly because of the weak macro capability. The Xantech is the Macro master and at $59.00 it is hard to beat. But it doesn't have the tons of controls that the SL-9000 has. The Marantz is better at Macros and at labeling, but it is also more expensive. I got the original RC2000 (with the expanded memory) for $130. The SL-9000 cost $90. In summary each of my 3 remotes has strengths and weaknesses. If macro functionality is not at the top of your list the SL-9000 is definately the remote for you. The Marantz is still my favorite. |

I purchased the SL-9000 for $99.95 from Satellite Service Co. on the web and have been very pleased with the unit. The unit can learn commands from any remote, but by using the built-in codes you may not have to program anything. If there is a key that you need to program, you can choose among many on the remote that will be similar (but maybe not identical) to the original remote. So with a little thought anyone can duplicate the buttons on the original remote onto the SL-9000. The unit comes with button stickers that you can use on the keys, but they look pretty cheap and won't last long with constant use, so avoid them! The Marantz remote is twice as much money and the batteries won't last half as long as in the SL-9000, so there. |
