Strength:

Awesome clarity, THX surround Ex and Dts Es discrete are fantastic. Plenty of power and excellent channel separation.

Weakness:

none (for $1000 or less you can't beat it)

Keep in mind I'm an audio enthusiast, not an audiophile. At first, the only listening options I had were analog (I didn't have digital cables yet). This limited my home theater experience to Dolby PL II and Dts: Neo. I was immediately astounded at the audio quality compared to my old Yamaha. As soon as I got cables I was off to the races. Star Wars Episode II (THX) and Fellowsip of the Ring (enhanced with Dts Discrete) were immersive and transparent. BTW, I don't have audiophile quality speakers; this receiver gave them a presence and warmth they've NEVER had. Awesome build quality. Great receiver all around.
