I have this receiver for a year now, and I can say that for the amount of money paid for it it does a great job. I have listened to various other receivers below and little over $1000 and I can say that there is no difference. More to this I even consider it a bargain for the $549 CAD from Price Club. The AC-3 is just unbelievable, for this price I'll give a full 5 stars to this unit.

After reading several reviews of different products and listening to some of these products, I settled on the TEAC for two reasons - no negative reviews (at least that would affect my use of the receiver) and the price in Costco was even lower now. I picked it up yesterday for $279.99. So far, so good.

This is an unbelievably priced full range receiver having packed in so many features, including AC-3 RF and very effective digital sound fields. Even the tuner can automatically pre-set and assign upto 30 stations at a push of a button, that simple! The phono section is another wonder! There are many many home theatre receivers on the market. To find one with full features and sound so good as this one at this price is almost unbelievable.

I just picked this up from ONSALE.COM for $189 after reading the reviews here. I was a bit nervous as this was a refurbed unit. I must say that it looks and performs great. I have it hooked to my DVD/DIVX player with the optical digital connecter. It is also connected to a VCR, CD Player and a Tape Deck. I am very pleased with the performance and ease of use. There is a clicking sound emitted from an internal relay (?) when it goes into digital mode. But, its minor, and I can certainly live with that. I shopped quite a bit and read many reviews of various receivers. This unit was reviewed as high or higher than most of the ones I was considering for at least three or four times the money. I don't think it can be beat for the price, features, and most importantly the sound.I am very satisfied.

I gotta tell ya, if I had 7 or 8 hundred dollars to spend I would have gotten something with DTS also but I'm a budget audiophile. This is a great receiver. I also was disapointed with the stereo/subwoofer situation but I devised a great fix for it. I bought a source selector box from radio shack for $20. Email me if you have any questions on how to rig it up and I'll explain it. This Teac sounds fantastic with my 4 Energy XL16's, XLC center, and MK subwoofer. Oh, by the way, I paid $189 for a refurbished model with a 90 day warranty from onsale.com, what a great deal.

from my early years of listening to music, my uncle owned a teac reciever(about 3 years old now) and they sounded great. now that i'm older, i bought myself a teac pro logic reciever for my room and a teac ag-d9100 for the family room. i bought the reciever at $250. they are worth every penny and then some. They have a lot of power(100x5) they look beautiful inside and out. they handle movie soundtracks wonderfully. i feel the bass, thanks to my 12" jbl subwoofer and the center channel with my jblcenter2 speaker. All the channels match smoothly with each other. My teac digital system is teamed up with jbl speakers while my personal pro logic system is teamed up with klh tower and center channel speakers. both systems sound great and definitely worth the price.

After reading the reviews for several receivers I decided to give the "Teac" a try. Everything I wanted was incorparated into the "Teac". I was not disapointed with it at all!

I bought this receiver for $189 from www.onsale.com about a month ago. The only immediate problem that i see is the subwoofer problem that everyone talks about. however, other than that, it works great. i have infinity delta 60 hooked up and they work extremely beautiful. They also sound magnificent during dolby digital and dolby pro-logic movies. With the low price, i have absolutely no problems with it.

For the Price of $220, this is a great Dolby digital receiver. Only problem is the subwoofer. however, it sounds amazing with the motorola processor. Other than the non-universal remote, it's a steal!!!! i would recommend it highly to anybody.

After reading the reviews I am glad I purchased this reciever. I Paid $250 at costco and almost went with the pioneer. For the price teac offers more. I have this hooked up to my toshiba dvd and sounds awesome with the monster digital interlink coaxial cable. I've never heard my cd's sound this great. I am a starter in H.T. but a great researcher and cannot wait to get my paradigm's. For those of you like myself on the low budget side this is a five star you can't beat!!!
