Strength:
Ample power (100 watts per channel), well constructed, ease of use, excellent sound for the money.
Weakness:
display a tad bright, especially in a darker room. Other than that, nothing so far. To put this review in its proper context, this is a entry level, stereo only reciever. It does not have the features or the capabilities of a mid-fi A/V reciever. That said, this is and excellent product for what it is supposed to do. If you are on a budget or a college student like me, I would highly recommend this reciever. The sound is a good your going to get from a component in this class with no glaring flaws. It has ample power, 10 o'clock on the volume dail is quite loud. It also has plenty of headroom for loud music. Previous reviews have been critical of the tuner but I have had no problems and I can now pick up many stations that I could not before. Up to 30 stations can be preset (either am or fm) and you can tune in a station directly from the keypad which is a feature I like. Imputs include VCR, Tape, CD player and Phono. One drawback to note is that this reciever must have nothing on top of it. It tends to get rather hot if the ventilation is blocked. However, if properly ventillated there are no problems. It cannot play both sets of speakers at once, not a problem for me because I only have one set of speakers. Similar Products Used: this is the first component I have purchased. |

For the price of this reciever, you can not go wrong. The sound that i get out of it is great. I pump out the sound out of 2 200watt Sony(SS-U307)and 2 125watt JBL(LX44) speakers. For the price and the sound this reciever is great. The only problem i have is that you can not use speaker A with speaker B at the same time. The wattage of this amp is 4x80. |

Low Price, great POWER, Crip Hi's and deep lows, works great!
Weakness:
Can't use A and B speakers at same time, What else is not to like??? Wow, this reciver is a great bargin, it is powerfull, easy to understand, Class H equipment, and it is compatable with anything but a DVD, which dosent concern me because i hook it up to my TV. The EX-110 is Technics entry model of the EX series. I have hooked my Technics Cd player, a 45 inch Toshiba TV and of cose a tape player. For speakers, I use Bose 2.2's and Phase Technology 5.5, which go very well, I also have a Cerwin Vega subwoofer. As for the probolem with the A B speaker switches, I went and bought one of those Magnavox Switches that will turn on up to six pairs of speakers at once!! Similar Products Used: Dennon AZR2 |

Only can use A or B speaker but not A/B together, No remote. I needed to find an affordable receiver for my office to replace one that died. This did the trick. Very nice sound and style. A bargain for $117. |

None!! for the Price a Bargain Had a Sony Surround I bought 6 years Ago in the shop all the time paid $400 plus got sick of it, one night went to Circuit City bought this cheap 2 channel receiver. It sounds better than the $400 plus receiver very clear sound I have had no Trouble with it either. A true Bargain I think the Model # changed I think it is Know SAEX-140 [I Think] I hooked Klipsch Heresy II speakers to it and it rocks the House I can remember back in the early 70's when a 50 watt 2 channel receiver would cost $250, and back than $250 was a lot of money to come up with, this receiver has 100 watts Per Channel a TRUE TRUE bargain Thank You Technics!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only two channels, cant use a and b speakers together I was a little low on money so I wanted a good receiver to go with my pioneer 12's and my optimus 8's, so I bought this receiver for about $130 at circuit city. One drawback is that you cant play the a and b speakers at the same time. I didnt really care I just hooked one 8 and one 12 in each channel and it worked fine. I think that it is almost as good as an onkyo receiver which I tested but you cant play the a and b speakers at the same time and it dont have loudness control. But it is a lot cheaper so what do you expect from a cheap receiver. But it is definatley good for the price. Unfortunately mine broke when tried to hook a used equalizer to it. Smoke came out of the top and it no longer workes. I highly recomend this receiver if you dont have a lot of money, but be very careful hooking an equalizer to it Similar Products Used: Onkyo |
