What can I say that has not been said already, this is a great amp, it has plenty of power and barely gets warm, sounds great and I got it for $400.00 shipped, can't beat it.

Hands down, the best value in home theater. I owned this amp back in 1998 when it was first released, now here I am 12 years later after numerous HT setup changes I own it again. The amp is very hard to beat. I've owned the Lex LX series, Cary Cinema's, Parasound Halo's, Krell TAS, etc, and although it might not have the power rating as some, it is the most neutral amp I've owned and I couldn't be happier. Technology changes every other week, but a good amplifier will always be a good amplifier.......

it is not happened to me that to say but that ..the curiosity I do not leave myself but that to open to this monster of Y amplifier….the cover and the grid covers that it is laminae of great weight and quality like no other....the screws and the spirals that hold the same are of the same quality...the heat dissipators are of great size the eposxico crystal cards are formidable in aim electronics is fabulous...a single toroidal transformer of diameter 52cm approximately by 9cm of thickness if they have one equal Asómbrese than they have....I use with this main amplifier, loudspeakers ONYX reference 3, back loudspeakers definitive technology BP 2000tl, loudspeakers central definitive technology CLR 3000, like preamplifier DENON avr 4806, DVD DENON 5900.... in summary, the low ones are strong, the means are clear and transparent and the acute ones very detailed fine nongaudy and exsasperantes, in conclusion range is complete, delicate and delicious.....this amplifier is much and but that sufficient for my needs of audio...I do not believe that it changes a this monster, of only thinking about the transport they are 73 net pounds and packaging 81 pounds...if some of you wishes to see the photos taken from this amplifier I have 50 photos very in detail on its construction ATI it is ATI ...

This is my first experience with an outboard amplifier. I had been using a Sony STR-DA777ES receiver (their last push/pull receiver design, 120 watts per channel) to power my NHT 2.5i, Audiocenter 2, and 1.5 speakers. The NHTs are well known to be demanding on amplifiers, and to me, the Sony receiver sounded great. By contrast, my Outlaw 1050 receiver sounded thin and sizzlingly bright on these speakers (and still does on my NHT super zeros). The ATI has the sweet sound of the Sony, but with a noticeable improvement in overall clarity (transparency?), bass depth and control, and, of course, power and dynamics. Where my Sony receiver would begin to clip, the ATI shows no outward sign of distress – I have yet to light up the “peak” indicator LEDs on the front of the unit, despite having tried (I was limited by concern for my neighbors, though). The ATI hardly even heats up, in fact, and is doing just fine inside my equipment rack with about 4 inches air space above, compared to the Sony receiver which heats up like a toaster oven and requires exterior mounting. My experience with hi-fi amplification (probably more mid-fi) has been limited to my NAD integrated and demonstrations in shops (the few times I get to go), and my headphone setup (Sennheiser HD 600s with Headroom Supreme amp). I therefore cannot offer comparisons with other brands of separate amplifiers. I can, however, say that I have heard bright and harsh amplification, especially with my NHT speakers, which are notoriously revealing, and the ATI is neither bright or harsh. I can also say that this amplifier sounds considerably better than the highly-rated NAD integrated, which I thought sounded rather thin and bland (even on easier speaker loads, like the 91 dB Acoustic Energy Aegis Ones). I can also say that my system now sounds closer to my reference headphone system than ever before, and definitely easier to listen to. I am very pleased with this amplifier’s sound. Add to that the weight (get help or you’ll seriously hurt your back), finish, and build, and this is one very fine amplifier for someone upgrading from a receiver, and a bargain at the reduced price. After looking for a five channel amp for a very long time and listeming to almost everything out their I took the advise of my local dealer and purchased the ATI 1505. You just can't get a better amp even if you spend a great deal

more money. I did get a ground loop hum when I first hooked up, but ATI warns that this may occure and a ground loop

isolater like the "Magic Box" will stop this pronto. My

unit has never displayed any hum or other irregular problems

and has worked without a hitch. The unit is very slightly bright, but I have found that most five channel amps that

cost less than $5,000.00 often do sound a little bright.

The amp runs cool and sounds great on all my DVD movies as well as 2 channel CDs. I cable with MITs and this reduces

the slight bright sound. I just added a Classe ssp25 and

As a speaker manufacturer, I have auditioned many amps over the years. I find that different amps have certain qualities and attributes. Because audio equipment varies so much from owner to owner, each may find a certain amp sounds better in their system than others. That is why personal choices are subjective! But, are there audible differences in some amps that perhaps make one worth more than another? YES! How much more is up to the buyer to decide. As an ATI amp owner and dealer along with my speakers, I'd like to address the issue regarding the differences between the ATI and another popular amp, the Outlaw.

Many opinions have been written as to the ATI 1505 and the Outlaw 750 amplifiers. It is a known fact that the Outlaw amp is built by ATI for Outlaw! Because of that fact, many believe the Outlaw 750 is an ATI 1505 cloaked in a different dress. Let me be clear, IT IS NOT! Because of manufacturing costs and tooling, ATI uses a similar design and construction format, but the two amps have several differences that make the ATI superior to the Outlaw. That is not to say the Outlaw is not a good amp, because it is!

ATI is well aware of the fact that some believe they are buying a ATI 1505 at wholesale cost when buying an Outlaw 750. They believe they are skipping the mark-up of the retail dealers by buying an Outlaw amp factory direct. What they are buying is a good amp for $1100! Because it is built by ATI, it is probably the best 5 channel amp available for $1100! Step up a few hundred dollars more to the ATI 1505 or even the 1506, and you are not only buying the best amp for that price range, but I dare say for two to three times that price range! Thats not an opinion but a proven fact!

I challenge ANY magazine or independent person(s) to an honest comparison between the ATI and any other multi-channel amp on the market costing up to $5000! Why do I sound confident? Because several comparisons have already been performed and we continue to compare ATI with other amps. At the $2000 range, I just haven't found anything comparable! ATI has set the new standard and other amplifier companies are striving to come up to it. I hope many do, it will only be a benefit to the consumer!

For those who have wondered what the differences are between the ATI 1505 and Outlaw 750, here are a few.

(1) More transistors on the output stage. 8 per module for the ATI vs. 6 for the Outlaw.

(2) A larger power transformer. 2kva for the ATI vs. 1.6kva for the Outlaw.

(3) Advanced circuitry design in the ATI. Because of proprietary design I can't discuss the differences.

(4) Detachable AC power cord on the ATI. This allows upgrading the AC line for those who believe in that tweek.
Its main function is to make it simpler to remove the amp if necessary and change if ever damaged.

(5) A heavier gage metal used for the ATI cabinet.

SUMMATION:
What are the main reason to buy the ATI over the Outlaw? A better built, tougher amp with much better capabilities of running heavy loads and low efficiency speakers! With all 5 channels driven to max, the Outlaw CANNOT meet the demands that the ATI does! So, is the few hundred dollars difference worth it? Absolutely! But, on the other hand. For the person that can't afford the extra few hundred bucks, he still can buy an amp that has much of ATI's quality and will also out-perform any amps in it's class!
Considering that a buyer will only need to purchase this amp one time for many many years, I say go for the best and don't look back! ATI meets that requirement!

Fine amp I suppose. Never compared. It plays. Had an old SAE once and liked it, and these are the same folks so I figured why not. Recently had mine die, and received a new one. Nothing is perfect nowadays. Just wish they could've done something else with that power switch. Hate having to lift.
