Astonishing sounding amp. Crystal clear, dynamic and transparent. You feel you’re just getting the music with no interference. Excellent bass and imaging. Ignore the power rating; this amp was designed to deliver power when it matters. It will outperform most modern amps under £1000. There are a few caveats: it is getting on so make sure you get an excellent amp or you’ll need to budget an extra £100-150 for a service; also, it is very revealing so if your source is not up to scratch, you’ll know all about it. It has an excellent phono stage. When you can pick these up for as little as £100, it makes you question why people spend more.

Unforgiving of poor source. Will likely need a service. Will make you spend loads on more music.

I sold my cyrus 8 after playing them side by side for a month. Although the cyrus 8 was more modern and has a great look, the cyrus one just sounded better each time I made a switch from cyrus 8 whatever genre of music I was playing. I shelved the Cyrus one after I've bought a Rega Elicit R as it has a higher output rating. After 6 mths, I took the cyrus one out from my storeroom to test for a buyer coming to take it , I was stunned by the sound I have been missing comparing it to the Elicit R. I've decided to keep the cyrus. Even though the Rega has a much higher rated power output, the cyrus one beats it with an audibly lower and quicker bass slam. This is remarkable as this cyrus is more than 30yrs of age! I eventually sold the rega at a great loss.

No fussy circuitry, simple solid amp with high end components. Fantastic soundstage vinyl sounds amazing, you would struggle to find an amp today that sounds this good.

Hello! Just last week I found in China textile shop (?!)some lost old totaly dirty amp. For 150 euro it was mine. Just later I found it is Mission Cyrus one MK7, last revision. I have cleaned him properely. Acc. Production label this little toy was produced 1989...I asked myself what the scrap I have again purchased. (As more times before) Cyrus company I know but I have newer ever owened anything from them. But connecting now clean amp with fully alloy chassis to my big rack I started to be shocked. As sources I used my Audia CD2 and RegaP25/Benz Glider SL/Rega Aria combo. I played many rock, jazz LPs and CDs. Speakers were old Cabasse Iroise 500(no joke, I tried this tiny little amp with just 2x25 watts with those big girls). Cables are Nordost and Cardas. Last Year had at home cca two weeks Rega Brio 2017. This amp was really stunning. It could really drive Iroise speakers till medium-high loudness no problem. But old Cyrus One in my opinion has more transparency, more energy in low mids and high bass than last Brio. And soundstageing is more accurate than with Brio. Brio has more power, control, better high end for sure bigger balls mainly in bass than this old Cyrus. Brio is also warmer, more tolerant to crappy CDs than Cyrus. Cyrus is very very fast. This is clear on Cabasse speakers. Projection of sound into space is stunning. Sound in my system is completely out from boxes and farleft, farright from speakers. Bild quality for such old amp is very solid. I also like unique connection and binding posts. No problem with Cardas cables. I had no problem with mechanical parts, amp works now on 100%. This week I organised for Cyrus a pair of shelf speakers Cabasse Corvette 300. Very rare and old excellent speakers. Cyrus in combination with such speakers show what is hidden in him. Ewen B@W 601, 602 are slow and coloured to combine with Cyrus- sorry for this.

Cyrus could sound in some circumstances lean or even aggresive. Cyrus do not tolerate any shortcomming in the system. You must take as good source componnets as you can. Or this machine will punish you. I have at home also Q-Acoustics 2020. Combination with Cyrus is not best one. Space is lost, dynamic, details as well. Talent of Cyrus One was hidden. For me borring sound.

Hello ! I own this little amp since 1990 .For my oppinion, it was the only amp in his price -tag that reaches , what we can call high - end . It has great dynamics , much better than Creek , Musical Fidelity , Rega and so on..... It sounds clear , very musical and powerfull . It`s more agile than the Mission Cyrus II . It is easy to use , and has a beautiful design . Technically perfect , with great musicality ...it sounds good , even with low-cost loudspeakers , but to reach it`s potential , it should be combined with good other audio equipment .

At very high levels ... a slight tendency to shout .

At home I could hardly trust my ears, there was so much soundstage, precise and powerfull sound and an exellent stereo image. Compared to my other amps including the Harman Kardon I felt like removing a curtain from the soundstage

Finally, an amazing little amp that produce an amazing sound. I was a bit skeptical about the amp since it's old but after reading all the good stuff about this gem, I went ahead and gave it a try. It doesn't hurt since it cost a fraction to my system.

The sound...It's to good to be true. I tried all the integrated amp in it's price range and nothing even come close. It's produce a very natural and open sound in my system. Music is fast , the bass is tight and involving. I guess this is the british sound characteristic.

I am glad that I give this little amp a try. So if you are looking for an affordable true class amp, give this a try. You will not regret it.
