This is a good product and shouldn't be on the Hall of Shame. I hope that the duplicate posts and their compensators get removed.

I agree with previous reviewers that think multiple reviews from wackos (ip address 131.183.14.142) should be discouraged by prohibiting all reviews from that ip address. This site is ruined for serious shoppers by these morons, whether they post multiple 5 star reviews or multiple 1 star reviews.

I picked up one for under S$700, and am using it with a pair of System Audio 1150 Speakers. Plenty of power, As for the soundquality, I will say it has a good midrange, excellent sound stage.
I don't really know how to put it but every thing sound's right at where you want it.

PS: Don't know why but those bad review I've read are mostly from the states.
is it possible that NAD whould have produce diffrent model of 216THX??, or maybe it's the power supply that's giving the problem. I'm just guessing.

The NAD is bad! The bass is muddy and slow, the midrange hasn´t got the details and the treble just is there without nothing extra. My friend has it with Paradigm SB 110 and Atom. It doesn´t sound better then my system!! Cerwin Vega, Denon and Technics!

Another great amp from the king of budget audiophile gear. Although, this amp lacks some of the detail and high frequency refinements of more costly amps it works fine in home theater set ups. Massive power supply and industrial looking heatsinks keep the amp running smooth and cool. Another excellent choice for the audiophile or home theater buff with a budget.

Strength:

A lot of good quality power for the money.

Weakness:

None that I have found. Please read review.

I bought this amp because I had a friend recommend it to me. Thanks, John! Actually, he recommended the NAD because of the older power envelope products, and I thought these were part of that product line. That point does not matter. These are terrific sounding amps. Set them up correctly in a REAL (budget) high end system and you cannot get much better without a ton more money. True, they may be bright (A LITTLE) but when paired to Bohlender/Graebner Ribbons, (actually planar magnetics) which roll off a little themselves, I have an EXCELLENT sounding, very involving, neutral system. 880 watts (@ 4ohms, 4 by 220), REAL power, a dedicated circuit from the power panel, and NOTHING else plugged into the circuit, and I have never been disappointed. True, that may seem like a lot of effort to some people, but if you want ANY AMPLIFIER IN THE WORLD to sound its' best, you will do the same thing. Bi-Amped, Bi-Wired, and active crossovers are the secret! No funky passive circuitry in the speaker system to muddle things up. Damping factor could be a bit higher, but it is my fault for trying to drive 4ohm woofers with them. (And at that rating the DF is a still respectable 100) Got a pair of them from a local dealer for 700.00 out the door, and I have NEVER once regretted the purchase. I will buy MORE NAD products in the future, in fact, I am looking into a pair of 218's to replace them, because there is NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH POWER! Anybody ever heard the terms "headroom", "dynamics", etc? If you ever heard a real high end system, you would know that these are good (not the end-all, be-all, for sure) amps for the money, and with careful attention to setup, (as with any amplifer) and proper supporting electronics, they are a terriffic amplifier for the money. (I am now stepping off of my soapbox. Thank you for your attention.) I agree with one of the other reviewers... No 5 star ating, but a VERY SOLID 4. If you are looking for an EXCEPTIONAL amlpifier value, consider the NAD 216THX

Similar Products Used:

No other amplifiers, although I have listened side by side to Threshold, Bryston, Adcom, and others.

The amplifier has lots of power when you combien it with 4 ohm speakers. Is maybee not a amplifier in high end but it sound great for the price its going for in Norway.
