You should block all reviews from 131.183.14.142 since it is obviously B.S. If a NAD distributor is doing this, he should be dropped from all NAD distribution channels. Shameful...

The technological effort behind the NAD 216 THX results in a relaxed unstrained musicality with transparent , airy high frequencies, a deep, solid bass foundation and a smooth well-integrated midrange.

What a crime!

One of the only reasonably priced hi-fi amps on the market put on the hall of shame!

And all because a few wankers decided to take justice into their own hands.

Come on, just because one guy... who cares if he >>could<< be a dealer (this has never been proven) really likes this component. I hope Francis has the brains to delete the extra posts, as well as those of you just trying to "compensate." Please, restrict your reviews to actual opinions on the product. Bad form indeed.

By the way, I think this is a decent product, from what I know about NAD's other products. If someone actually does have problems, I hope they post them. Please, by all means, continue to enjoy! -s

I purchased this amp for much less than the $700 retail price; my plan wasto use it for bi-amping. I first placed it in my living room system in
place of a $3000 class A amp. After a few days I actually started to like
the NAD. The bass was very good and the soundstage was also good. The
highs could become harsh at louder volume. The midrange was typical
solid state in that it lacked the magic of tube gear. But, this is
a very good amplifier, especially since you can often find it new for under
$400. It weighs 31 lbs and the build quality is very good. If you like
solid state and want to move up to seperates, this is the amp. 5 stars on
value, 3 on sound. I used this amp full-time for over two months and I
do not think it deserves the low rating from some reviews!

Just an FYI, this is essentially the same amp as the Carver AV-705x. The differences are the NAD toridisal power supply, and the soft clipping feature. Otherwise they are exactly the same. Had one opened up next to the aV705x that was being worked on. Everything is the same. I like the 705 x so I'll give it 4 stars to not skew the ranking.

This is a power upgrade to the NAD 317. Having tried this power amp with the 317 I can see no reason why not to buy one. The change in the sound is immediate ang hugely worthwile: music becomes more threedimensional, gains substance and is suddenly just more real. Bass weight is improved with the 214driving the R speaker. There is no woolliness-just greater controll, better subjective speed and more clout.

Tip
I think this amp a little more musical than the bigger and more expensive 216 THX
