Strength:
price, power
Weakness:
none See my RSP-976 review I bought this and the Rotel AV preamp to replace an aging Yamaha DSP-A2070 integrated amp. This amplifier was surprisingly clean. I am driving Kef Reference Model 2s as mains, Kef RDM-1s for rears, and a Kef Model 100c center channel. There is almost nothing else in this price range that can compete. Strength:
Smoothe handling of both music and HT. Can run all day without getting hot. Great build quality. 12-v trigger for automatic power on and off.
Weakness:
Crummy power cord. First off, this site has the RMB-1075 listed at 150W per channel--it''s 120W per channel. I''ve had this awesome-looking beast powering my system for about four months now and it has not disappointed me. Previously, I was using a Nakamichi AV-10 DD DTS receiver. I was very happy with the Nak, but it strained at high volume; things got a little thin. This is not the case with the Rotel. It has added tremendous punch to the system, and it never seems to get hot (which can''t be said for similar B&K products). The high quality of the build is apparent. My only complaint is with the power cord, which, as another reviewer noted, is pretty cheesy. The cord only loosely connects to the amp in the rear. I''ll have to buy a better one. If you''re in the market for a 5-channel amp, make sure you check out the RMB-1075. My value rating reflects what I paid for this product, not its list price. My system: Rotel RMB-1075 amp Rotel RSP-976 pre/pro Marantz CC-67 5-disc changer Pioneer DV-525 DVD player Mitsubishi 35-inch tube Main speakers: B&W CDM1SEs Center speaker: B&W CDMCSE Rear speakers: B&W 601S2s Subwoofer: Sunfire True Sub Jr. Similar Products Used: Nakamichi and Pioneer receivers. |

Strength:
I compared this unit against others that cost 3 or five times more and could not hear any difference, so why pay more?
Weakness:
Power cord !!! It is the 99 cent type. Rotel should be ashamed to include it with the product. I have to spent another $70 for a decent cord. This is an excellent product (except for the 99 cents power cord that came with the unit). It sounds great for the money! (I''m sorry but can describe its performance in audiophile terms (color, deepness, etc)). Similar Products Used: NAD, Sunfire, B&K |

Strength:
Headroom/Accurate/Bang for the buck
Weakness:
None All in all a major improvement over the carver unit. Admittedly that particular carver isnt really a carver. I think Bob Carver had lost control of the company and had no real input. Similar Products Used: Carver av-405 |

Strength:
Great sound, features, ergonomics, build, price and runs cool at loud levels.
Weakness:
no DB25 In/Outputs I think Rotel is looking to discontinue the RB 985MkII with the RMB 1075. I have both units and they both sound alike, wiht the exception of the 1075 sounding a tad less brighter than the 985. Both units will be in my system for many years. For the price and features, you can't beat it. It has a 12 volt triger and nice binding post, but no DB25 in or output. This is the only problem I have with the 1075. With that aside this unit, like all Rotel products is a must see (hear) unit. I have played this baby at loud levels for long periods of time and it has never run warm let alone hot. Rotel is the first brand I upgraded to in the component world and I am upset with myself for loosing out on all the fun for so many years by sticking with receivers. Strength:
Perfect tonal balance, great bass, more power than you'll ever need
Weakness:
None found yet First of all, let me say that if you're looking for an amplifier for home theater or stereo listening, don't buy anything until you check out Rotel's lineup. Their value is unparalleled. This is all the amplifier you will ever need. Rotel is famous for underrating their amps, and this is no exception. This thing could probably crank out 200 watts of clean, musical sound, including thunderous bass, all without ever sounding bright or harsh. It weighs almost 60 pounds! It will play louder than your ears can tolerate, even with power-hungry speakers. Be careful, this baby will blow them it's got so much reserve power. Bottom line: This amp is the best you can buy for the money. Period. Similar Products Used: Denon, Marantz |

Strength:
Great sound, detail and price
Weakness:
None This is a follow-up to my first review in which I provided incorect information in regards to the unit lacking a DB25 input/output. The unit does have this feature. It Is my preamp (Lexicon DC-2) that lacks this feature. This is a MUST audition amp for any one looking for great detailed, accurate sound at half the price of other amps its class. This baby realy mates well with my Deft Tech 2006TL speakers, which tends to be a tad on the bright side, but this amp puts out a smooth lively sound through these speakers. This is my second Rotel amp and I am lookig to pick up another Rotel amp for stereo listening. |

NEVER HEATS UNDER ANY CONDITIONS
Weakness:
NONE I'VE OWNED MANY SYSTEMS IN THE PAST AND I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING THAT COULD WITHSTAND THE DEMAND I'VE PLACED ON THIS SYSTEM. CERWIN VEGA AT15'S AT FULL VOLUME RUNNING ALL 5 CHANNELS FOR PROLONGED PERIODS AND THIS THING JUST SITS THERE SMILING, NEVER LOSES ITS COOL. HUGE SOUND STAGE AND CLEAN SOUND, WITH THE PROPER CABLE CONECTIONS. Similar Products Used: YAMAHA 892AX |
