Strength:

Power... plays as clean at 125 watts RMS as it does at 35 watts RMS... It has a switch to match your speaker Ohm's 2,4 0r 8 Ohms so you can see the Actual Rms Watts on a Digital red LCD numeric meter read out, allowing you to see the power demands and a LCD 26 segment Light bar that can also flag Peak outputs in music passages. All my LCD's STILL WORK.

Weakness:

None ...

I read some of the reviews on this unit and now here's the full info on this AMP...and I still have all the original Booklets from these babies...
I brought my MX-1000U Amp New in 1990 along with it's companions, the Pre-Amp CX-1000U, & AM/FM Tuner TX-1000. New Prices... AMP(MX) $1200.00, Pre-amp(CX)$1200.00, Tuner (TX) $700.00 at Tweeter. The MX Amp will run speakers of 8 ohms with a continuous 260W MIN RMS per channel at 0.003% THD, at 6 Ohms 295 Watts 0.007%THD , and 4 Ohms 330 Watts 0.02% THD (MIN RMS Per Channel). Total Harmonic Distorion 130W/8 Ohms at a cool 0.003%. It has Built-in 18-bit digital filtering that performs 8 Times oversampling. Channel separation at 1kHz 89dB. It's an unbelievable Amp of clean power at loud volumes throughout its power band. I drive a pair of Klipsch Synergy KSF 10.5 's for speakers. This Amp delivers and it's performance isn't equaled at it's price or near twice it's price. It's digital numeric RMS watt readout is great along with its 26-segment LCD power band meter. The Amps bad boy matching Pre-Amp has FIBER OPTIC OUTputs with built-in D/A (digial/analog) converters and it's stats are Total Harmonic Distortions (20Hz-20KHz) Phono 0.001%, CD/Video/Tuner/Aux/Tape/VCR/DAT/ 0.001%. It's 18-bit 8 times oversampling digital D/A filters produce a Stop band rejection at -100dB and pass band ripple is a minimal +/- 0.0001dB.
S/N ratio of no more than 123dB. Channel separation of 90dB and these bad boys are ready for it's Matching Tuner ... This bad boy lets you tune in your FM channels in increments of 0.01 MHz which is unheard of Tuning ability and it's LCD numeric panel reads out your stations numbers or it's ALPHA station call letters (WNBC, WPBX, etc.). Put in PLL synthesized tuning, with Signal noise ratios of 98dB/90dB Wide and narrow band station locking, two antenna hook up and remember these bad boys are 1990 vintage. Truely these products still kick the butts of units in the $1000.00 - $1500.00 price range 10 years after.

Similar Products Used:

Nothing is similar in units at twice the price.
