I have lived in even more countries than Paul "the Analphile" (fifth 'review'). (A wee joke.) Anyways, anyone who gives this great amp less than five speakers should seek professional help. Honestly, at even twice the price of a 314, no better amp can you buy. From a Cyrus CD player, I listened to everything from Metallica to Vanessa May. Forget the specs, just trust your ears. As with tires, power is nothing without control. Highs, lows, and everything in-between--the NAD 314 it all extremely well. In sum, very impressive, especially considering the price. (I wouldn't normally consider spending less than 2k on an amp.) There are better amps, sure, but not at anywhere near this price.

I have heard a lot about the NAD 304 and 314. I think they are great from everybody point of views. Now, I'm just looking for an amplifier to replacemy old Poineer up in my room. I think the NAD will be a very good choice for
it to drive a pair of B&W DM601 bookshelf speakers.
Send me e-mail, if anyone has any suggestion. Thanks

I just bought the NAD 314 about 2 weeks ago to replace my Pioneer receiver. First impression... well, this little amp gives very clean and open sound of all types of music even at lower volume. With sudden attack of rock music, the 314 handles it with ease where the bass is deep, cymbals sting and vocal uncluttered. Need to use some good interconnects though. Features wise, you get what you pay for. Overall, the 314 is a good quality amp for the money and I'm fully satisfied. Highly recommended.

I just picked up a NAD 314 for about $350 bucks. I didn't except much from thisdull looking black box with only a few knobs here and there. My Rotel Integrated
Amp had recently kicked the bucket and the NAD seemed like a good, cheap way to
replace it. Well I got home and hooked the amp into my current system (Parasound
CD/P-1000 CD-Player, NAD 412 Tuner, Energy C-4 speakers, High-Quality
Interconnects. Geez..The Improvement in sound quality was incredible. The NAD
removed the annoying bright top-end that had been coming from my Energy C-4's
all those months. I would have to say that the NAD 314 produces a clean, open sound that is realistic sounding and full of life. I noticed some problems
with a little too much treble roll-off at high frequencies but after a few
weeks of tweaks and changing interconnects/speaker cable many times I got
ride of it. I have not heard a better Intergrated Amp/Pre-Amp-Amp Combo for
under 1.5K for my system. For Around $400 bucks you get a 35WPC Amp (The NAD
has an extra high-voltage capacitor for music peaks so it sounds louder),
Binding posts, Bi-wire capability!!!, Gold plated Phono/CD Inputs, 2 tape
inputs, Pre-amp out/Power amp in connectors, and a great sounding descrete
amplifier section!!! I don't understand how anybody could give the amp less than
5 speakers. Note to anybody out there, Consider the NAD 314 as a cheap and
excellent sounding replacement for your current amp(s). I give it 10 Speakers. Ohh never mind...that's not possible...just look sad and say doh..."doh"...

I have listened to this amplifier just a few days ago in a local audio store and it sounded pretty good and quite loud when the knob is rotated at around 10 o'clock. This is quite a powerful amplifier that delivers decent bass and good clarity in the upper frequencies even at lower volume levels. Highly recommended!

This is a review of the 304 integrated, which I owned for several years.
I agree with everyone that it is a great buy for the money; it will drive
reasonably difficult loads (like my Totem Model 1's) pretty well, though
not as well as the mega-overbuilt stuff, of course. My observation is that
for those of you who buy this amp with the intention of future upgrade
to separates, replace the PREAMP section first. This was by far the most
noticeable change in my setup. The amp section is actually quite good.

I've had the NAD 304 for almost 3 years now. I would swich it for an another amp. And here in Sweden it cost around: $260 bucks... it's just 1/4 of the price in USA, hmm...

I bought an NAD 314 amplifier a year ago. I got it to replace an old Kenwood integrated amp I had that was fifteen years old. The performance of the NAD is better than the Kenwood in all respects. Even though it is rated at only 35 watts per channel it sounds much more powerful than any amplifier I have previously owned. The highs are more detailed and smoother and the base is tighter and more powerful. At higher listening levels the music still sounds smooth and accurate with no noticable distortion. I have two sets of PSB speakers that are rated at only six ohms that are driven easily by the NAD. It's a very good amplifier and I would recommend it to anyone who wants great sound.
