Strength:
Performs as well as others I auditioned, and cheap! Big upgrade over most receivers.
Weakness:
None at this price point. I've been slowly upgrading my system, which was initially purchased for HT. I upgraded from a Yamaha carousel to an NAD 541i ~ 6 months ago... what a difference. As for the C370, I auditioned about 1/2 dozen amps (integrated and seperates) and I was surprised at how closely they all sound. My decision came down to the Musical Fidelity A3.2, Anthem MCA20/TLP1 amp/pre combo. The MF was $2,000CAD and the Anthem combo was $2,500CAD. I spent hours listening to various types of music on the 3, trying to perfectly match the volume of each unit to get a true comparison. There really was not a WORLD of difference between either of them. Overall, I think the MF was the best sounding but the difference was subtle. I was going to purchase the MF but could not justify more than double the price over the NAD. The C370 is a big jump over my Yamaha receiver, much warmer, more detailed and took away the 'brightness' of the sound. I don't think you can go wrong with this one... but let your ear be the judge. If you can hear a big difference in a different amp, buy it... I'm very happy with the NAD. I must say, I hate the term "Giant Killer", every hi-fi piece I read about is a "Giant Killer", “have to spend 10x as much to get better sound” It's impossible to wade through the garbage on the web, so let your ears be the judge. Once I decided the NAD was my choice in the audio store, I took the demo model home for the weekend to see (well hear) if the sound was improved over my Yamaha RXV-992. Had it not been, it would have gone back to the store... Similar Products Used: Musical Fidelity A3.2, Anthem, Rotel, Bryston ect... |

Bass. Taught, deep, clean and quick, what more can you ask for? Midrange to die for, it is warm, detailed and sweet. And the Highs? Excellent, delicate, detailed amd sweet.
Weakness:
None I have discovered yet. Like a lot of people I have gradually upgraded my equiptment and finally upgraded my amp to a C370.THis is a great sounding amp, deep and taught bass, lucid, open sweet midrange and beautiful highs. I listen to all types of music and the amp is wonderful with them from Norah Jones to Pink Floyd. What can I say, IT was a real step up from the NAD 320BEE I was using. Strength:
Power (not loudness), the ability to handle speakers, detail, clarity
Weakness:
low quality speaker connectors, low quality interconnects, no input for vinyl, no LCD display (but I don't think that is necessary) My review won't be a long one. Just wanted to point out that the power rating has nothing to do with the loudness of the amp. Of course, it has some to do with the loudness, but it isn't close to have everything to to with power. Which some people here seems to believe. This integrated amp is really a nice piece of equipment, AFTER the breakin period. Before my one was played for some weeks it hadn't any depth at all. And now, after about 6months use it really is better than when I bought it. I have noticed that this amp doesen't seem to be as loud as some others can be. But instead this one handles HIGH volumes with precition. Haven't heard it distort yet, with and without the "Soft Clipping" enabled. My general inpression of this amp is that it's best suited for rock, and heavy-deep-down-under bass notes. It can still keep up the pace when it comes to trance & techno. But not as good as some might be able to. The sound is pure and uncolored in my point of view. And the detail level is very high. But as with all other equipment, test it YOURSELF in the real world to really know if this stuff is for you. I believe this amp won't suit everyone, and might impress some people. Remember that this amp need a couple of fine speakers, high quality speaker wire, high quality CD Player & Tuner to come to it's full justice. I like this one personally. But that is just me. :) |

Build quality Powerful, plenty of bass slam factor Mids & highs clean, open and well extended Very musical and Honest to source material
Weakness:
captive ac line cord After owning several Mid & High-end seperates over the years, I have recently purchased the NAD-C370 integrated amplifier. Over the last 20 years or so I have watched NAD progress in there product developement to become a leader in what I would call upper mid-fi status. The C370 has confirmed my opinion and then some (entry level high-end) This amp is a real winner! Power, sonic purity, construction quality and most importantly musical! Enough Said! power, poise and grace. Give it the right speakers to drive and you will be amazed!
Weakness:
This is NOT an audiophile amp AND I'm not an audiophile. So as far as I'm concerned the only weakness is the remote. Its not very sensitive when trying to fine tune the volume. Otherwise, for the price, and for an audio enthusiast, this amp has no weakness. My System This posting is just to correct the totally meaningless review below. I both have (at home) a technics and NAD C370 int. amps. There is absolutely NO comparison. The NAD is a better amp by a mile! Also, it definitely NOT underpowered. I found the technics to be underpowered when driving my BW DM 603 S3 speakers. Even my wife realised that! I give it only 4 stars as nothing is perfect! By the way, it would help if one can include the other system components of they can't be found in the comments. My System: NAD C370 B&W DM 603 S3 Panasonic DVD RV31K and a Sony CD player (planning to upgrade to NAD C541i) Interconnect: van den hul D102IIIB Speaker:ultralink - due for upgrade. under powered lack of deatails hard sound (makes your ears fall off) What a piece of crap! The look of this amp says all about sound , its BAD!!! Sound is hard and it lacks of deatail, its week and under powered. How can this bee an ampflier rated to 120 watt each channel???? My old Technicks has better control on my speakers and its rated to 40 watt( 8 ohm) I thought that this amp was good? I am really disappointed by this amp. I cant find one good thing about this amp, is has no strengths.... And how can someone say that this amp is powerful and good sounding? I cant belive it. This is my first and last amp i will buy from NAD! I thought NAD gave value for the money? well... well... This amp was just wast of money if you ask me. I do not recommand this amp. Try H/K or Rotel and you want get disappointed. |

Strength:
High Power that is Clean and Detailed. Simple to operate and no bells & whistles to fool with.
Weakness:
If you want an amp that has great cosmetics this is probably not for you as it is plain looking but the sound makes up for it in my opinion. I purchased this Product for Music only as I use a SONY ES Receiver for Home Theater. I have been very happy with the performance of this Amp thus far. I also recently purchased the Paradigm Studio 60's that match very well with this amp. The sound is very open and detailed and the power is more than adequate. What I really noticed from the start is how clean the power is. I can turn the volume past the 12 oclock mark and there is not a trace of distortion. The difference is night and day compared to the Sony ES receiver I was previously utilizing as the music source in my setup. From other reviews that I have read there is a break-in period as well so it will probably sound better yet in time. I can't imagine though as It sounds so pure and clean now. For the price point I would highly recommend this Intergrated Amplifier. There are other amps in this price range such as Rotel, Arcam, Etc. which I auditioned as well and the NAD just sounds much better and powerful than the competition to me. Of course other sources in your setup also play a part so one would need to take that into consideration as well. Overall I feel one can't go wrong with this product though given the right electonics to match up with. Similar Products Used: Sony ES, Pioneer |

Strength:
It does play with detail and there is good delineation of individual instruments.
Weakness:
Unfortunately the detail is present along with the bright, etched quality I complained of earlier. I have been a fan of NAD mostly because of the 3020 and this seems like a step backward. Forget the Stereophile hype--this is not NAD's finest product which for me remains the 3020. My main complaint with the 370 is a bright, etched and edgy quality in the treble which never existed with the 3020. Take Stereophile's reviews with a little perspective--they sell advertising to the same people who make the products they review--listen and decide for yourself.
