Strength:

Power, deatails,Good control of the bass element

Weakness:

The look could be better, but i think it is ok. Nothing else in this amp class

The first day i used the amp, the sound was very week and hard i think. The amp sounded like a cheap Sony amp!. Two days later the REAL sound of the amp came! A lots of POWER with detail sound. The amp sounded much better after i had "warmed it up"! (the amp need some days and then it will sound its best with pure power!) I know that every brand new amps needs to be warmed up but this amp sounded very bad the first day. But I am happy now ! You can use all kinds of speakers with this amp! It has alots of POWER

First one had a small problem, but hey, nothing''s perfect;

Just a short update to my previous review - it turns out there was a problem with Speakers B (I single wired to each A & B, and B made the popping sound through my speakers when I shut off). Fortunately, I caught this early and got an exchange for a brand new one. One thing to note - NAD never wrote back to me. But in any case, the sound is amazing. It is a fine amplifier.

Well, I''m certainly trying a product that has raised some emotions. Clearly, a lot of these Yanks (wanks)have some difficulty with accepting the opinions of a couple of southern hemisphere types (that''s the area south of the Equator chap) - with the President they have it doesn''t suprise me. What''s interesting was their surprise at being shafted up the rear end by Mr Ben Ladin et al. Grow up Dave or somebody may do some damage to those haemmoroids Now to the C370, I''m trialing it currently and all your comments have been usefull in benchmarking it for me. I''m a budding enthusiast from Africa (Dave, thats towards the South Pole for you) and my first 3 days with the Amp have been fantastic. I''m using it to amplify my TV signal for the upcoming Test series with Australia - so I can hear (&transmit) the roar of the crowd when Jonty hoists Warne over the cover boundary

Strength:

Power, control, and detail; detailed highs and midrange, strong & tight bass; good solid build; easy to use;

Weakness:

Popping issue when putting unit on standby;

(they really need to fix this website and its errors, because I lost my post and having me retype it is really irritating) I owned the T750 before I upgraded to this integrated (thanks to the 90 day full exchange policy at Saturday Audio Exchange). This review will be a little more critical and less embellished than my T750 review (read here at: http://www.audioreview.com/A-V,Receivers/NAD,T750/PRD_118682_2718crx.aspx). The first thing that struck me about the C370 over the T750 was the phenomenal improvement in midrange and treble detail. I could hear very clearly breathing in the singer''s voice and background instruments. Instruments sound like they are meant to sound in real life (good examples of these are cymbals and guitars). Also, the power in the C370 is just awesome, with a real authority and clarity at loud volumes. My only quibble with this integrated is the fairly loud pop that goes through my speakers when I put the unit in standby. I haven''t really done any experimenting, but I know it still happens when I turn the volume down all the way and is also louder when the unit is on for a long period of time. If I turn off the Speakers though, it doesn''t happen (obviously). I think this might be a grounding issue (I get a little zap sometimes when I touch the unit) or maybe related to the way I have my speakers wired (biwired with HF into Speakers A, LF into Speakers B). Otherwise, it might be a technical problem. I e-mailed the folks at NAD earlier this week, but haven''t received a response yet. So, overall I would give this unit 4 stars in value (since $600 is a lot to spend for just an integrated, and I am a college student) but 5 stars for overall rating since this amplifier is a gem in terms of sound quality. Power, control, and detail - an incredible combination. Kudos to NAD for making this product so close to their core values of simplicity, performance, and value. It is also upgradable - I plan to purchase (after I win the lottery) a matching C270 power amp to bi-amp a new set of speakers (probably B&W DM603S3 or CDM1NTs) to build my system into a great hi-fi system. This is my system: - NAD C521 CD Player - B&W DM601S2 pair - IXOS 1114 Interconnects - Monster XPHP custom cut & terminated cable with Tributaries Banana Plugs - Atacama Nexus 6 speaker stands

Strength:

Good internal building. Facilities. That's it.

Weakness:

...everything else!

It is the fifht essence of HI-Fi to british magazines. For me it is the worst integrated I have heard for a long time.
It is almost unbelievable. Play some demanding CDs and you will soon find out. Music comes from a pit, deeply underground. Singers seem to have socks in their mouths or a bag in their heads. Is so capable of overbass that it cames closer to distortion.
In every respects, my Rotel just smashes it. What a crap.
I cannot ignore so many enthusiastic reviews. Perhaps the problem it's myself, or some problem with the particular unit tested, perhaps...
It was not "burned", I must say, nor my Rotel was when I bought it. Anyway, running in could not improve dramatically such Lo-Fi performance. One to avoid.
(I also use a Marantz CD player, a 63 KI).
As you may understand I do not own a NADC370. I visited my dealer in order to buy one. Well, I bought the Rotel.

Strength:

clarity, POWER. Everything sounds Soooooooooooooo good!

Weakness:

Speaker terminals are a bit too small for bi-wire. Speakers don't play when you insert the headphones

Well, I never believed that a new amp can make SUCH A BIG differents. After buying my new speakers I still didn't get the sound that I was hoping for, until I bought this baby. waaaw, every cd I own sounds so much better now. the bass is very strong and fast. And its just like that I relearned what stereo means. the soundstage is very good too. Everything is SOOOO clear.
I really like the remote. Some people here complained about it but I don't see a reason for that.
The only thing I don't like is that the speakers turn off when you insert a headphone-jack.
And the speaker terminals are a bit small if you want to bi-wire your speakers. But that can be solved when U use banana-plugs.
I think for this price you can't go wrong with the NAD c370. I did a lot of research and no-one came close to this one.

Just a note to the Belgian people: Don't buy this amp in Belgium!!! Its about 10.000Bfr. cheaper in the surrounding countries. I bought it for 27.500Bfr. in Germany instead of 37.900Bfr. here in Belgium. Its worth the trip :-)

PS. sorry for my bad english :-)

None

As everyone has summed it up, this is one great integrated amp. The moment I hooked it up with my speakers, it made my speakers more lively and more enjoyable to listen to. I was able to hear things in the music that I was not able to hear before. I am throughly impressed with this integrated amp. This product was highly recommended by my brother since he uses it to drive his Linn Ninka. Anyone that buys this integrated amp will not be disappointed because I know I am astounded by its performance.

Strength:

plenty of power-very flexible input/output capability, good value for money

Weakness:

lacks transparancy,,boomy bass

This amplifier is about the best value on the market and has great flexibility and will power any speaker to whatever volume levels your ears will stand. However it is certainly not everything it is cracked up to be-it is ideal for dull sounding, ineficient speakers but I feel that the various reviews have tended to overstate this product as a high end amplifier on the cheap----it is no such thing and I can understand what the other reviewer rantan means, although i believe he went too far in the critique--perhaps he/she has a mismatched system--I do not know. One thing that bothers me about DAVE from Atlanta is that HE IS THE PROBLEM ABOUT THIS SITE--as soon as someone states something against the stuff he sells in his store he goes ape . Maybe the other guy is a bit extreme but maybe his review was tongue-in-cheek and mostly for a joke .Please let us be tolerant about different attitudes and laugh for a change if someone writes a wacky review. I love audioreview.com.because it provides a medium for us all to have some fun and share some knowledge----LIGHTEN UP DAVE AND RANTAN--THERE IS A PLACE FOR BOTH OF YOU ON THIS SITE.

Strength:

clarity, effortlessness, power

Weakness:

none-well I do sometimes think the 317 has a slightly better look with the buttons clustered rather than in a row on the C370

This integrated amp is easily the best amp on the market for the price. An important feature of an amp is its ability to work hard without distorting. It is amazing how effortlessly this amp has to work to produce high volume levels. I have not gone passed 10 o'clock on the volume control and it is extremely loud and without even a hint of distortion. But the true measure of an amp is what it sounds like at low volume levels and this amp is fantastic. Bass at lows levels is very, very good and the music is as clear as day. It is amazing that on some CDs I can actually make out the words that the person is singing where before, the vocals were sort of muddled and the words seemed to run togeteher.

Now, for the idiot who gave this amp 1 star. First, his review is based upon a showroom listening experience. So, if you asked me, the first golden rule of this site ("Do not review things that you do not own!) has been violated and thus, the review should be disregarded. I personally do not think Rotel amps sound any better than NAD amps (and neither do any of the most respected hi-fi magazines). But I do think Rotel amps cost unreasonably more and are less reliable compared to NAD amps. However, as I have never purchased one nor had the ability to really listen to a Rotel amp OVER TIME at home, I won't act the idiot and start reviewing Rotel amps on this site. Secondly, of course someone could objectively give this amp less than 5 stars. But a 1 star review is just idiotic nonsense. The fact that What Hi Fi has praised this integrated amp is enough of a credit to merit 2 to 3 stars at a minimum. Furthermore, just look at the tone and writing style of "Mr. Piss" and you can see he, as it was so aptly put before, "needs to get a clue." His comments are basically what you would expect out of a 12 year old.

Finally, if you are looking for a good integrated, definitely check out the C370. If that is too pricey, I would certainly give the C340 and C350 serious consideration. Also, I have seen that good prices can now be had on the NAD 317 which I was within an inch of buying a couple of months ago. Cambridge Audio has some nice integrateds but they just seemed to lack the power I was looking for.

I am giving the C370 4 stars for value. The only reason for that is it is a little pricey. Five stars in the value category I think should be reserved for the likes of AudioSource and maybe Cambridge Audio. However, for better sound quality, you would easily need to spend in the $1000-$1500 price range. Thus, five stars easily for the overall rating.

System:
NAD C370 integrated amp
Tannoy mX2 speakers
Cambridge Audio D500 CD player (single CD player)
Sony CDPCX 400 CD player (400 mega changer)
Monster Cable bi-wire speaker wire
Vampire interconnects

Strength:

Loud, fast, accurate and dynamic without distortion!

Weakness:

A few minor, could use more flexible binding posts...

Order went without a hitch, 3 day UPS from NY - fast. I 1st noticed the volume control needed some whiteout to see where the heck the volume level is. Man, at 9 o'clock and my system starts cranking!

Past 12 o'clock and my JBL S312's @ 95dB efficiency start moving everything from my ears to the concrete slab (I'm listening from 5'2" on an equilateral setup). I listen to everything from Bach to Led Zeppelin, music is very detailed and does not distort even at loud levels (past 1-2 o'clock and my hearing is of more concern). No problem keeping up with my corner placed 250 watt Rava subwoofer.

It seems to pass everything my Toshiba SD9200 DVD-A player feeds it with ease. I guess this will be my last analog int amp before I try anything in the digital amp domain... You cannot upgrade much from here anyway, unless you're going for broke...

For a plain looking component it has a ton of features (just like my Toshiba SD9200). Like a tank, it is built to perform - not look like it's going to the Oscar's or Emmy's. And that it does from low to very high volumes!

My system:

NAD C370 - 120 watts x 2
Toshiba SD9200 CD/HDCD/DVD/DVD-A player
JBL S312 main speakers/cherry - 35-20,000Hz
Adire Audio Rava 12" subwoofer, 20-160 Hz
Acoustic Research Pro Series 50' 12 gauge (2x5’)
Acoustic Research Pro Series banana & spade plugs
Acoustic Research Pro Series RCA-RCA
Studio Tech HF-04/4 shelf audio stand
Toshiba 27AF61 27" flat screen TV
Acoustic Research Pro Series coax cable
Acoustic Research Pro Series component video cable
Tripp Lite Isobar-6 DBS/HT surge suppressor
