Strength:
superb imaging and soundstage; such a pleasurable listening experience that it makes you want to re-explore your music collection for presence and detail missed previously.
Weakness:
zip, nada. I note the design bashing, but I don't think it is butt ugly. That utilitarian look merely spells no price jacking eye candy, but rather, emphasis strictly on quality The NAD C-370 is FANTASTIC! Can't offer proof by way of a definitive double blind experiment with eyes wide shut; nor by comparison with a similar or higher priced integrated amp with ears wide open. But I can tell you this: I listen to all types of music. From classical to early jazz and R&B, from be-bop to post bop and Cecil Taylor, from obscure 50's rock and roll and rockabilly to obscure 60's garage and outre alternative music from the last 25+ years. All of it sounds terrific via the NAD. But the clarity and dimensionality it affords to my classical and jazz collection is really striking. Similar Products Used: This NAD replaces my DENON 345R. There's no comparison. |

Strength:
Power. Value for money.
Weakness:
Looks. Rather unproportionate. Captive power cord. Despite the much better build quality of the Roksan Kandy, I bought the C370. The following comments are based on the price point of this amp. This Amp has very good tonal balance. It represents vocals very very well. Its midrange is exceptionally good for this price point. Vocals is meaty without being too forward sounding. Imaging is pin point solid. There is no lack of details too. Sounstaging is not particularly outstanding. The Kandy has better depth and separation. The Kandy always sounded thin and uninvolving compared to the C370. The Marantz 6010 has less details retrieval capability than the C370. Strength:
Powerful, tuneful range across the board. Serves all sorts of music convincingly. AB speakers makes bi wiring an instant asset to my speakers than to the far away bi amping
Weakness:
A better boost on built quality and binding post could be better. Tape deck buttons over the populate the remote, To enjoy the mellow tunes from Miles Davis to the beats of hard house, Bach and Vivaldi on the listening list occasionally. Many integrate amps fail to convince the realms especially at this price range. Similar Products Used: Yamaha AX 392 |

Strength:
Detail, tight grip on bass, power, and power
Weakness:
Not for rockers, can be awfully bright with garage band music, shouts when fed with lo fi recording My first British kit. This is what the rags over in UK have been raving about, and they are mostly accurate. This ugly beast houses a beauty of electronic engineering. If you like jazz, or love to crank up a Beethoven and are cash-strapped, this NAD is highly recommended without reservation. It is not as refined as pricier models, but the detail and power on display are a big bang for your buck. But then again, I am utterly disappointed when I listen to pop/rock/metal; this amp makes my Mission shouts. Maybe it's a limitation with my Mission, but a smoother amp like Marantz, though not as detailed, will tame those nasty treble. But for lovers of cool jazz and female vocals, this is one remarkable amp. Similar Products Used: Marantz, Akai, Sony, Denon |

Strength:
Excellent value, lots of high current power, straight forward design, no frills or uneeded features.
Weakness:
None. NAD in my opinion is still the best integrated and power amp. manufacturer. The C370 is their flagship int. amp. unit at a modestly rated 120WPC. In fact, the unit is so loud, that I use the variable pre-amp outs and decrease their output by about 1/2 or -6db. Using the regular pre outs, at a low listening level, you can not get past 7 o clock on the volume dial. I'm not an audiophile and I don't beleive in all of this sound characteristic stuff. In my beleif you simply try to get the best signal off of the CD and convert it to analog as best you can. Then you need as much power as affordable to maintain clean sound and then your speakers and their positioning will ultimately dictate the quality and characteristics of the sound. It is this handling of the line level signal and its attenuation is where NAD excels. No fancy features, simply lots very clean power to take a great CD or other signal and amplify it for your speakers. I like the remote, others have not been as impressed, the buttons are different but it has a great "soft" feel in your hand. The build quality of the case while not as heavy as earlier NAD units is clearly sufficient. In fact, considering the weight of the amp itself, the somewhat lighter case may be a blessing. If your looking to get a lot of power at an incredible price with above average build quality and superior design, then this unit fits the bill. Also, no power thumping when the unit is turned on, it appears to all be handled electronically which is nice. A very good mid-fi unit. I don't think you will be disapointed. Weakness:
Nad build quality is not top notch First, I have to mention that I don’t actually own the NAD C370. This review is based on extensive listening to both the C370 and the C319 (which is the C370’s predecessor). Strength:
Superb Power Delivery. Smooth accurate timbre. Excellent bass detail and attack. A classic to be.
Weakness:
None. Eureka! I found the Amplifier that truly does it all in my price range. I have been looking and listening to varoius amplifiers for a month or so now to compliment the B&W CDM7NT Loudspeakers. These speakers can be on a trifle on the bright side with some Amplifiers, but not with this beauty. The power delivery is simply superb by any standards. No matter what load that is amplied this amplifier, it never falters in providing smooth detailed sound. Similar Products Used: Cambridge Audio, Harmon Kardon, Luxman. B&W CDM7NT Loudspeakers. |
