Strength:

Powerfull integrated amplifier , with 2x120Wsin ( real W , not like Marantz ) , crystal and soft sound , superb bass...

Weakness:

I didnt see and heard nothing to point that

I was daubting between the Rotel 980BX with 2x100 W and his superb dumping factor ( 1500 ) and this Nad !
I have heard them several times , couple of hours and there was no no doubt for me - NAD C370 is a BEST BUY !

Strength:

Plays music the way it was intended to be heard, a joy to listen to

Weakness:

Can take a long time to break-in

I first bought the Sony AMP which in all fairness was a good quality buy but it lacked punch and drive.I then purchased the Arcam AMP again a good buy but still the drive and energy of the music I play (Reggae,Soul,Hip Hop,Dance, and House music) was not being heard the way I like it. I finally purchased the NAD amp and after the first day of using it I was ready to take it back to the dealer and re-purchase the Arcam Amp as the best of a good bunch. The sound of the NAD was harsh and I really did not enjoy what I heard. Luckily it was a weekend and I never had the chance to return the NAD, after day 3 what once sounded harsh was now transformed into music. The Detail and power of this AMP is exceptionally good, if you enjoy the same musical tastes as myself and would like your music to pack energy and drive then for this price the NAD AMP is far better bet than any other amp I have tested/owned in this price range.
............. A very,very good product indeed

Strength:

Quality sound with good base and great power.

Weakness:

Initially lacked a slight bit of Detail. But Improved over time.

I had been using the Nad 7020 receiver for quite a while and although I was extremely happy with the detail and open sound, I found it to be little to bright and not efficient enough to drive my speakers, especially at lower volumes. I decided after much review to take a chance on the C370 Intergrated.

Response: Initially when I hooked up the AMP, I found the sound to be a little harsh and unbalanced. I thought I had made the wrong decision. However, after a little break in time, it seeemed to correct itself and now sounds much better. The 7020 was a little more open, however I found the brightness a little annoying on the ears. The C370 is a little more muted but it really does a nice job for overall listening, and its power really helps the low volume sound quality.

I must say for the money I am definetly satisfied...

Strength:

natural coherent&harmonic sound, excellent tonal balance, very detail but don't make highs sounds edgy, good imaging, wide & deep sound stage. and lots of POWER!

Weakness:

looks UGLY! mid could be sweeter with more detail& sound stage could be deeper(I'm looking for a perfect amp?).

I totally agreed with other reviewers on this site. Nad c370 is a great amp regardless of is price range. Before buying this amp, I did seriously compared and auditioned a lot of amps ranged fm $300 to $30000, my conclusion is Nad c370 is an audiophile product at a low end price! Jadis JA200($30000)pre/power compo, sounds great with every strengths mentioned above but with shrill highs? JeffRowland 122($5000) paired with an Audio Reserch pre sounds warmer but a tad dark and not as open as c370, Audio Analog Maestro($3000) very close to c370 with a bit detail mids. Myryad T40 sounds a bit harsh and lacks the power. The sonic differences between c370 and Jadis/Maestro is simply subtle. At this point I really wondered why those high end gear sounds so similar to c370 or vice versa? All above mentioned amps are good amp but not perfect(maybe nothing is perfect). Hat off to Nad. This product definitely deserve five star or more but certainly not one star!

Strength:

Power,openess and detail

Weakness:

Poor designed binding post

I bought this Amp after the good reviews I have read here on this Web page, it was a bit of a gamble but I wasn't dissapionted. I wanted to improve the sound when listening to stereo music. My Rotel gear (listed above)was OK for home theatre but was far too forward and bright in the upper mid range, plus I found it a bit veiled in the detail.
The NAD at first sounded bright and the bass too loose but after 3 days costantly turned on, things improved a lot.
It now sounds wonderful clean, open and detailed, I find I dont have to adjust the tone controls at all.The music sounds just right to me,I can now listen to my music without it making my ears bleed.
I also run the main speaker Pre-Outs of my Rotel, into the Aux Imput on my NAD. I find now that my music DVD's also sound much more listenable and less sibilant.
The only gripe I have is with the speaker binding posts I find them very poor and flimsy in design. I can't get my Audioquest cables through the centre holes, my banana plugs only fit after a tight sqeeze, I thought I was going to break the speaker binding posts.
The remote to me feels nice and solid and the buttons (although over populated)work fine.
For the price you can't go wrong with this Amp,I'm extremly happy and thats saying a lot for me as I'm pretty fussy.

Strength:

Clean power, tremendous surplus power, unbelievable depth, crisp highs.

Weakness:

none at this price

This integrated amplifier is absolutley a gem. Nothing that I have heard in the sub-$1000 range comes close. Currently I am using NBS dragon/fly interconnects and speaker cable, with an NAD C521 compact disc player. Soon to be replaced are the polk audio r/t800i towers with either magneplanar MMG, or B&W DM603 S3 or CDM1NT speakers. I listen to alot of blues and rock. At first when I hooked up this amp, I was pleased, but not ecstatic. Over the next few days of breaking in I started to notice the amazing details that it is capable of. No distortion and very clean power have made me happy. Buy this amp if your looking for the best bang for the buck.

Strength:

A powerful amp, with loads of dynamics

Weakness:

Built quality, Quality Control and Nad Support.

I have posted the review below and like most i reviewed it with positive comments wholeheartedly until a fortnight later of enjoying the amp. I discovered quite by accident that the cd output works for the tuner, aux video you name it, any input that is. The problem becomes more subtle as the symptom came and went on a irregular basis. I related the horrid tale to the dealer who immediately swop over a new amp. Bad unit but a good dealer and so I was consoled. No frills swop over and excellent service from Hung Bros at Sim Lim Sq i was consoled.

I understand no two identical electronic components are exactly the same thus quality control is the spine to any trusted name in the trade. Or supposedly a marketing made belief. On the surface the new amp looks the same as the one i had, only the gain seems a tad different could be the difference from a ran in unit previously. Sonically higher in gain, relatively dynamic across the range. Highs are sweet, mid were rich similar reports to my previous experience, I was back to enjoying the new amp despite the trouble involved in the replacement.

As the night fell, I plugged in my headphones for late solitary listening, to my dismay it didn't cut off the speakers output. Now this is an odd character introduced. The showroom units did not have apparent signs as the first unit that i've owned. Thanks to Douglas at the dealer above business morals and trade services friendly attended to me for the 3rd time in a month. We soon discovered from a brand new amp out from the box, the auto cut off function ceased to be. Comparing it with the showroom demo unit, we were truly deluded. I didn't push my luck any further and accepted the 370 new's phlight into my box. To make life easier, I took back my 2nd amp despite the dealers' kind offer. BTW there are black strands on hair found in both the boxes of the amps that i have come across, truly indicating the indigenous workmanship from China.

All the time wasted on travelling, packing and unpacking with this bulking unit. I am assured that I will never buy another NAD. Or rather NAD can be sure that i will not touch another of their products though the Silverline series are hot, then again its a denmark high end company known as Gryphon behind as in their turntable533 a Rega P2. BTW i have mailed NAD support on the regards of the matter of the C370 and no replies as yet. I do not expect them to reply either.

For those who are familiar with Sim Lim Sq in Singapore, I recommend Hung Bros with the highest conviction. The prices are decent and services and custom support is top notch.

Strength:

Powerful, wide soundstage

Weakness:

Remote, Vol. level hard to see

A great amp for the price (especially at the £360 that i managed to get it for). Transparent and very wide sound field. The extra power on tap means refined listening at low levels is excellent - full bass, and detailed treble (as an interim setup, i was using the amp on a AWAI midi system for a few weeks and anything below 'loud' resulted in only being able to hear the midrange.)

As other reviewers have pointed out, the remote is absolutely terrible in respect that if it is not pointing EXACTLY at the remote receiver (situated on the left of the amp) nothing much will happen (at least there's an LED that flickers to reward you when you get it right!). The vol. level is also indistinguishable, and I’m still deciding if i should deface it with tippex for practicalities sake.

Build quality could be a little bit better (as mentioned binding posts feel a little flimsy).

The above are minor niggles compared to the sonic capabilities of this amp though. I also have a NAD C350, which whist a very nice amp, lacks the control and dynamics of the 370 - the C370 isn't a whole lot louder though just a 'bigger' sound (something to do with logarithmic scales, watts and physics i think).

I compared this amp to the Arcam A85 (£750), with the Arcam CD72 and a very nice pair of £900 speakers (i forget what they were) in a dealers listening room, and really couldn't tell any difference between it and the NAD - The Arcam might need a higher quality source to show differences though.

Strength:

Clean, detail, tight bass, handles everything from pop to rock to jazz to classical effortlessly

Weakness:

color & construction

I didn't know much about the 370 until I came across this site and read all the reviews submitted by all the wonderful people here. I was initially a bit skeptical about things I see in the web and I thought all the good stuff written bout the 370 was the work of NAD Co working behind the scene - marketing ploy to sell more. But some reviews look genuine to me so I requested my dealer to check the price thinking its gonna cost an arm-and-a-leg due to the power (and all those great reviews). Then my dealer came back and say the price was only US660 which I thought was pretty resonable (and most importantly within my budget). So I ordered it without even getting a demo (coz my dealer doesn't carry any stock and there were none in any other show room). I bought it based on all the reviews by the other 370 owners in here and boy, did I make a good decision.

Compared to the Yamaha-496, the 370 is a class above (though the price is double) - I'm hearing details from my old CDs that i could not get from the 496. Music is clear and clean which don't fatigue the ears even after more than 3 hours of listening at moderately high vol. And all this is only 2 days old!!!

I bought the 370 together with a pair of Tannoy-R3 (to replace my Tannoy-M5). Thus both amp & speaker are less than 2 days old but the sound reproduction is already worth every penny.
