Strength:
NAD AMP sounds open and detailed, with sparkling treble, solid mid-range and a tight and full bottom. It has plenty of clean power, and throws a wide and deeply believable sound stage. If you buy this amp, I highly recommend you couple it with the matching NAD C-542 CD Player.
Weakness:
Remote could be a little better, and the binding posts on the back should be of a greater quality. However, these are very minor points and should not sway anyone from checking them out. For the past several years I have grown dissatisfied with the sound of music thru my Pioneer Elite Reciever, and surround sound speakers,{Paradigmn Reference 100 V3 package}. Surround recievers are primarily designed to make movies sound their best, and in that regard they do a great job. But music just doesn"t get it. After doing a little research on this web site and others, I decided to assemble a 2 channel system from scratch. I bought the NAD C-372 Integrated Amp and a matching NAD C-542 CD Player. After reading another recent review on this site, I matched this NAD combo up with a new pair of BOSE 901 Series VI speaker system. WOW! This is a great stereo music system. I have a very large CD collection, and I have tested the rig out with every kind of music possible, from jazz, rock, classical and beyond. Everything sounds new and fresh again. I tried my Paradigmn's in 2 channel mode, and although they sounded good, they were no match for the open and revealing sound I'm enjoying from my BOSE 901's. The NAD Classic Series components are the only way to go. I'm back to loving my music like I used to before watering down my system with home theatre equipment. Also, the NAD C-542 Player sounds bette r than my $700.00 Pioneer Elite DVD Player on music. Customer Service Excellent. Obviouly price--do you you really want to pay three or four times the price of this amp for another amp when you could put that money into better speakers? Very clean power, lots of connective possibilities, a track record of providing superior quality for reasonable prices. Listen to it!! It is a very high quality amplifier.
Weakness:
This amp will not win any awards for looks or for high class knobs and dials. In that area it is pretty bare bones. Also I don't particularly like the binding posts. They seem flimsy to me. The NAD C372 is, in my opinon, a wonderful integrated amplifier for the money and an amp to be seriously considered unless you have an unlimited budget for your stereo system .

Strength:
1) Well-made with decent quality parts 2) Can readily power most speakers even in large rooms. (I used it to power a pair of VMPS RM30s upto 80 dB (at ~14' from the speaker in a 25'x25'x16' room.) 3) The Performace/Price ratio is very large.
Weakness:
1) Can only drive 2 ohm loads (not on a continuous basis). 2) If driving electrostatics I would buy a different amp, but everyone knows that electrostatics have 1 ohm dips at high frequency. An excellent amplifier at this price point. I recently heard a pair of VMPS RM30 speakers driven with this amp and a $3000+ Bryston setup (300 w/channel). The Bryston had slightly more bass, but this is to be expected given that its twice the output. The NAD C372 still had good bass output. In fact, when testing for frequency response with my Stereophile test CD both amplifiers were identical! Overall, an excellent product for the money. I would conservatively say 90% of the performance of the Bryston at <1/3 the cost. Spend your money where it really makes a difference: THE SPEAKERS. Similar Products Used: NAD C320BEE, NAD 304 |

Power, Warm sound, Pre Amp in and out, Bridge options for future expansion 2nd pre amp out with level control. No Flashy dispays, No cheap effect chip, (ie (echo, room emulation). Sounds good flat. EQ not messing with mid range frequencies. EQ defeat option, Build, Bang for buck. Quality product, money spent on whats inside the box.
Weakness:
No learning remote. Nothing else I can think of. As a professional musician and recording studio owner, I have had a chance to use some of the best Pro equipment over the past 35 years, (neve, Avalon, Manley and others). I chose the NAD 372 for my home casual listening environment because I liked the sound, the price, the retailer’s service and the manufactures history. My listening room is not special it is just a room in my home. Spending thousands of dollars on a home system does not make a lot of sense to me. This amp sounds great. I use it with a pair of Bose 901s series VIs and I have no complaints. I know there is a lot of Bose bashing going on but I know what I like to listen to in my home. In the studio I use various monitors in a controlled environment. I do this to get the mix sounding good across the board on all systems. At home the listening environments are as individual as those listening. My advice is to listen to many amp and speaker combinations in your own home and find one that sounds good to you in the price range you can afford. Avoid brand name snobbery. The best lobster is no good to you if you hate seafood. For me, I highly recommend this NAD 372. You can pay a lot more and most likely not here a difference in an average listening environment. Follow your own ears. Don't be fooled by sales hype. Don't buy in Big Box Stores, go to a place where the sales people are Knowledgeable about their products and will allow you to take your time and get the right product for you. Hopefully it will be an ongoing relationship. Good Luck. Similar Products Used: HK,Denon, |

Strength:
beautiful sound, build quality is superb (apart from the knobs, very plasticy. i toyed with the idea of using the knobs off my old technics Class AA vc-4 suv-650, very nice indeed despite its age. The NAD was the only amp i even considered in this price range worthy of taking the place of my vc-4 and the NAD has risen to the challenge spectacularly), understated, serious looks the remote (although hideously ugly and cheap looking) provides access to all but tone controls and the defeat button and balance (i do not use tone controls, i believe they distort the true representation of the sound, but the tone controls of the NAD are both subtle and effective for those who like to tinker with their sound) remote also controls other NAD seperates, but only basic functionality which is nevertheless effective. i very rarely have to reach for the amp or my NAD c521BEE cdp
Weakness:
none really for the money and it has to be said there are much more expensive amps out there which do not perform as well as this does I have owned the Nad C372 for a week now and i have to say i wasnt all that impressed at first, however as i used it, it became more revealing with every cd. It has an incredible soundstage and excellent stereo imaging, oh and the power! 150W continuous into 4/8 ohms. The sound is very rich and detailed. Nice satisfying tight bass and a crisp treble. The midrange is pretty good too, vocals are smooth and transparent. i decided to remove the factory fitted jumper bars that connect the pre-out and main-in and replaced them with a high quality interconnect and it does sound better for it, the difference is marginal, but it is so simple and cheap that it cant hurt to give it a go and see for yourself. Strength:
Superb quality sound from bass & treble & with all the power you'll ever need. Also excellent sound at low volume too for any late night listening!
Weakness:
None. Previously I owned a 600 dollar Arcam Alpha 7R amp that sounded more like a 350 dollar one. I wanted much more quality sound for the money spent and decided not to gamble any further with money and go for the kill. I thought spending an extra 300 dollars on top of the Arcam price would do the trick. It certainly did! There was an amazing improvement in sound from CD & vinyl sources. For anyone wanting the best out of top end of the budget market a quality Amplifier is a must. The NAC C 372 has added a new listening dimension for me especially with Jazz CD's & Reggae vinyl. Everything is always fully dependent on the quality of the amp & this one is a cracker. Do not hesitate to purchase! Nothing in this price range compares. Anyone who puts the sound of this amp down must a real hi-fi snob with more money than sense. |

Really do not know.
Weakness:
Weak Vocal and very dull & dry base. I really do not know what to say. As because many people are saying many good thing about this amp. But have ever listen to any good one I doubt it. Power section of this amp. Is O.K. but the pre section sucks. Vocal is very low, base is dull and dry. Treble are absolutely irritation. But if you are a budget user then it is O.K I guess. I was using it with aDynaudio speaker and it was horrible, after switching to Adcom now I am getting some music. Anyway it is not if your whole system is based on about $ 1500. Strength:
Bass is very powerful, precise, controlled Satisfying overall sound quality Restrained, serious looks
Weakness:
Not as good overall sound quality as the HK 675 Remote is unbelieveably ugly, old type much nicer After some researching on the internet, I came down on Harman/Kardon HK 675 ($ 150 cheaper), and NAD C 372. I borrowed them both on the same day to compare at home. It turned out to be a tough choice. The first thing you notice is that the NAD may look a bit boring next to the HK. In my opinion the HK has a slightly cleaner, more comfortable sound. And a lot of power. But the NAD wins in the bass department. It has a more powerful and more controlled bass. Which was important to me. So after one evening and one morning with neighbour terrorism I chose the NAD. I really recommend it if you want a lot of bang for the bucks. No more hopeless searching with the bass knob now, there is always plenty. I've even thought of throwing out the sub. I recently blew the treble on one of my JBL 200 w speakers. I wasn't using the soft clipping feature when this occured, it may be wise to leave this on. There seems to be an opinion on the internet that you should replace the factory fitted connections from pre out to main in with aftermarket high quality ones. In the shop they persuaded me to get a pair from Tara Labs at $ 40. I really see this as superstition. I don't see why NAD wouldn't put in some quality parts here if they're so small and apparently so important. Similar Products Used: Harman/Kardon HK 675 compared NAD C 740 my previous one |

Strength:
The C372 has enough power to drive practically any speaker on the planet, and do it well. Great bass and smooth articulate highs. Oh yeah, PRICE!
Weakness:
O.K., it ain't the supermodel of integrateds but if you want chrome, buy a 57 Chevy. After riding the high end merry go round for 10 years with a 15 year old truck in the garage, it was time to drastically downsize my system. I needed to find an entire sytstem for around $2k and put the rest towards new wheels. I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to find an integrated amplifier that I would love for under $2k. After reading countless reviews on countless integrated amps, I stumbled on to NAD. Read a lot of positive things about the C370. Now NAD has the C372 to replace the C370. Did my research and decided to take the plunge. After listening to the C372 for a few hours, I honestly have a hard time understanding how most of the high end companies out there can justify the prices they charge for their gear. This thing is as dynamic sounding an amp as I have probably ever heard, period. I have owned the Jeff Rowland Concentra, The Krell KAV 300i and 300iL, the Pathos Logos and that's just the integrateds! I gravitated to tubes a couple of years back because I just got tired of the "solid state sound". Dry, grainy, hashy, bright, etc. They all pretty much got the bass right but the highs just flat made my ears bleed. Tubes are pretty much the opposite. Great mids and highs but generally weak in the bass area. Had to buy a sub to make up for the lack of bass. With the C372, I just might keep my Soliloquys and sell the sub. The C372 brought out bass in the Soliloquys that I didn't know they had! It does a fantastic job on the highs as well. Tone controls?! Oh yeah. I have probably close to 1000 CDs and 750 of them are from the 80s. Not a good decade for CD recordings. A minor adjustment on the treble and I'm able to enjoy the music of my youth again. I know just about every audiophile/enthusiast turns their nose up at tone controls. I did too for years but if they can serve their purpose without stripping the life out of the music then I'm all for them. NAD got them right, but you can also use the tone control defeat button if they aren't your cup of tea. I knew right out of the box that this integrated was something special and to my ears, there ain't nothing that I've personally heard this side of $5k that will put it to shame. The bottom line is that I'm enjoying my music more than ever and did it well under my budget. That's about as high a recommendation as I can give.
