Strength:
Strong bass, plenty of power to drive difficult speakers, very clear sound.
Weakness:
The ssssss on vocals seem to stand out too much but is better after replacing the pre-amp to amp jacks with proper cables. I purchased the c372 amplifier after reading reviews I read about the smaller C370. When I first tried the C372 at home, I was dissapointed, just sounded too crisp and unfriendly to my ears. Replacing the pre-amp to amp jacks with proper cables improved the sound but was still a bit unhappy. Well after about one month of use the amp is really starting to sound good, excellent bass and sounds so much smoother to my ears then when new - Im now very happy with it. Do think however it sounds better once the amp has been left on for an hour or so to warm up. Combined with a Rotel RCD-02 CD Player and old Celestions Ditton 66 Speakers it all sounds very nice. |

Weakness:
Not The Last Word in Integrateds, but better will cost far more... The NAD c372 is an absolute sonic marvel for it's price. Now upgraded to 150wts/ch from the previous c370 outclasses everything else in it's wake. With 7 inputs & virtually universal speaker compatability it has no competiton at $899 retail. The Sonics which include tight bass,Smooth highs, brute dynamics are the essentials of a great integrated amp. It even has a soft clipping feature to warn off any distortion woes... With the accompaying NAD c542 disc player dynamic nuances abound stretching the 20hz bandwiths. As an owner of the previous c370 this amp goes up another level in quality. Those needing Valve/tube amp sonics may need to look elsewhere, they are a class by themselves but lack overall slam IMHO. The NAD C372 is superb..... Similar Products Used: NAD C370,C340,C352 |
