The YBA Integre DT is a fabulous performer, it excels in all areas. The dynamics are very powerful, for example the drum solos sound like drum solos. The clarity, from the highs to the midrange, are astounding. Bass is |

I have owned a YBA Integre DT for the past two + years and think it is stillthe best integrated amp that I have heard. It excels in all the usual areas |

after finally settling on jmlab cobalt speakers, I auditioned a few amps in this (USD 1000-1500) range, including Bryston, Adcom, Creek, Parasound and some more(to be honest, I didn't have a chance of auditioning all of them with Cobalts except for Onkyo and Rotel).YBA Integre was a clear winner. On the first movement of Beethoven's 9, it revealed detail in both quiet and loud passages, and the perceived level change was stunning. If the CD was able to play 24, not 16, bits - it would reveal it all. Yet the amp was truly musical, not going into analytic dryness. It's indeed a 'straight wire with gain', but somehow this wire does it! A five star indeed. |

This is an excellent amplifier indeed. I listened to an assorment of different amplifiers before making the purchase--B&K, Sunfire, Classe, Linn, Anthem, Krell etc, and the YBA is clearly the best (for my taste). It is neutral, detailed, and very smooth. It doesn't have any of the transistor edge, and is the SS amplifier under $4k that sounds smoothest in its mids and highs, in my opinion. (It even sounds smoother than the 3 Copland tube amps that I listened to.) Yet it has tighter bass and better control, imaging, and transparency than most tube amps in the price range--it's the best of both worlds. |

I am presently using my YBA Integré DT amp with KEF's Reference Series Model 2 and my CD player is the Naim CD3.5. This setup has been wtih me since 1997, wtih the exception of the Naim, which I purchased only two months ago (I had previously been using Arcam's Alpha 8). |

This is a fantastic amp. I agree with the previous reviewer that George and Steve (both from Canada with essentailly the same ip address) are the same person and obviously has a bias towards the Classe. My decision was whether to get this amp or the Classe CAP150 used. I was only hesitant regarding the YBA because I wondered if they could drive my relatively inefficient speakers, Clestion 100s, 84 db/w/m and 8 ohms. I should not have worried, the amp drives them as easy as a hot knife through butter and at very high volume levels without clipping. 50 watts is a conservative estimate of the power and the dual mono construction really allows enough amperage to drive most speakers. My room is 12x16x10, not big but not small either and this amp fills it to the brim. It gives a wonderful soundtage and the best imaging and transparency I have ever heard. The power of the amp can be heard with dynamic pieces, the attack was superb. I have read every review available and most bemoan the fact that this amp might not have the "bass" more powerful amps have. The truth is that this amp has more than enough power to produce REALISTIC levels of bass, it doesn't enhance the bass as the Krell might. I have compared this amp with the Krell 300i, Plinius 2100i and the classe CAP-150. This is hands down the best of the bunch. To put this in perspective, I listen to all types of music, including jazz, acoustic, rock and classical. This amp replaced my creek 4240SE. My speakers are celestion 100, sources are a thorens 166 mkii turntable with a grado platinum cartridge and a rotel CD 970, the phono preamp is a lehmann black cube. |

I have owned a DT for six months. Bought it used for $ 1,800.00 It does sound nice, but not at all musical as the hype says. Because it is so revealing, it is very very analytical and must be closely matched with compatible speaker cables and so on. Too bad "Al from Florida" had to qualify as "insecure ear" the reviewer before him because he does not share his point of view. The real insecurity comes from not admitting that while the YBA is a great product, it does come short on power on certain applications. I have been offered to trade my YBA in for a used Classé cap 151 and I will go ahead with the trade. I should have bought it in the first place as it has sweeter highs, better municality, fantastic transparency, and much more power ( 150 watt/ch ) than the YBA ( 50 watts) for about the same price. Both are fine amps, however, the Classé in my book being a much better value. As in all things here it's a matter of taste! YBA = 2 for sound, 4 for meticulous build quality, 1 for value.... |

It looks like the two reviews posted by George and Steve are by the same person. Check out the IP Addresses. |

Nice sound, but way too underpowered at 50 watts to be a serious buy in this price range filled with 150 sublime-sound watts from Plinius and Classe. If you have a small room, you could enjoy this amp. Otherwise, it's sounds cold and dry when driven past it's intended purpose, which means soft and accurate. Would deserve a 5 if it was $ 1,000.00 cheaper. Sorry, competition is tough ! |
