I'm Dj since over ten years and I'm spinning very often over the weekends. At home I need to prepare my sets with the MKII's almost every day. I never had a problem with these turntables. It's a reference for all DJ's around the world!!!!! Save the vinyl!!!! |

The fools that bash this product probably haven't even tried it. I'm sure they heard another TT from what they call a "mi-fi" brand and so when they heard about this TT from Technics they thought it was their responsibility to make sure nobody would buy it. |

I recant my previous post. Went out over the weekend and compared the MKII with an old Gyrodec and found out how inferior the MKII really is for true music reproduction. Too bad I can't take back the 5 star rating. |

I bought a SL1210 MKII about 3 months ago and have found a superb item. If you take a lot of care and pick a decent cartridge/needle (Ortofon Pro-s) this will give an excellent sound. However i have previously owned Dual CS503 and Rega 3 and although the Technics does not match on sound i know it wont break if i have the audacity to play a record. The Technics is tough (ask my 4 year old) beautifully constructed, feels like it will go on for ever and with a little care (and a decent system) will produce a good sound |

Got one at yard sale for $25. Sounds ok but won't make me forget CD's. |

I can't believe that this thing is still around. I've used this turntable when I was in highschool and that was over 12 years ago. I understand that the bulk of users are Dj's and I guess if demand is still there, there is no use to change a good thing. I had mine for a run of 7 years and they could do anything except one thing, which I will explain later. I use to be a DJ and did that for 3 years and after that the tables just collected dust and played old 45's. They can play all your records and will stay put on some slightly warped ones (with proper wieght adjustment). I can only fault the big fish bowl they call a cover. The things are heavy and look for models with RCA outputs. I had older versions that had the RCA cable coming from the bottom of the turntable. Being mobile and moving the turntables from my stuido to site to site damaged the wire connections to the circuit board. Not an easy fix, but if your a DJ, just buy the anvil cases for them and keep them in there. The turntable is fully manual and thats great for many a reason but bad for one. I love listening to music and love to relax when listening to it. Being fully manual, this baby will not return to start when the record is finished. So if your an easy sleeper, you may want to get an extra pair of needles and get prepared to be awaken with a lovely "thud-thud-thud" sound from the needle staying at the end of the record unless it goes all the way to the label! OUCH!! |

OUCH!! This is a great turntable! Buy this, save the money for a good needle(s) and good wires and your sound system will do the rest. And don't fall asleep. :) |
