Strength:

Good quality at value low prices, reliable and consistent workmanship, pleasant to do business with...

Weakness:

You can buy better sound results for considerably more money.

Good value, good sound, carefully made,no aggraavation transactions. Cable is used with ans sound good with my Bryston amps and older three way tower MB Quart speakers, Sony ES CD and other equipment. Question: Have you ordered over the internet and then waited weeks for another (not Better Cables) small cable maker to deliver the goods only to receive damaged items? Brad at Better Cable is honest and reliable from my experience and makes a nice product.

Salemanship, build quality, price, absence of BS

Weakness:

Lead time to get cables- this however is more a due to my impatience than any criticism toward BetterCables

I just received my cables last week, so a detailed write-up of their performance will come later. Intitally though, after the breaking them in for about 30 hours, I found the combonation of interconnect and speaker cable to have a neutral quality to them- what more could one ask for, or expect. My opinion is that the gear should not interfere with the original intent of the recording, and so far Better Cables delivers as promised.
Build quality is quite nice too, great jackets and connections- I got both spade and bananas. The spades are of the non-locking variety, so they can be a bit of a pain to torque down without three hands.

But let us now redirect our attention toward the company and Brad Marcus....

I am a very impatient person. My wife finds it amusing that I hate buying furniture because one has to wait 6 weeks for delivery. We bought an SUV (a Nissan Pathfinder, which is another example of an EXCELLENT product) for the sole purpose of allowing me the ability to haul anything-simply because I do HATE to wait.
So I'm on the phone with Brad and he tells me that my speaker cables will take 8 days due to order back-log. Not only 8 days- but 8 Business days, with Memorial day laughing at me as if to mock me on one etra day it took away! Not only that but the way the days fell would throw anohte rweekend in there during ship time! Well, I swallowed my tongue and tried to be a big boy...OK, I can handle this, I said. As days went by, I started to crumble, calling Brad no less than 4 times to enquire on whether my cables were ready to ship- he patiently let me know their ETA each time (the ETA of course never changed, but it was oddly comforting :-))
So the time finally came and I broke down and gave brad another call on the Wednesday prior to the Thursday Ship day. I politely asked Brad if he would be so kind as to ship my cables next day, so that I may play over the weekend. Wihtout hesitation he said yes, but indicated that he would not be able to quote me a price on next day shipping. I started to sweat, imagining a shipping cost via fedex of $30 dollars! I wanted to save money on cables and go an spend it on shipping! What an idiot I am! But even with that fear I defaulted back to nature and diret him to ship next day- I wanted those cables dammit!

So the cables came on Friday and I ave Brad a call and asked what the damages were. He said: "Well shipping was thirteen dollars"...I said "say again, did you say Thirteen dollars?"
Brad replied: "Yes, I subtracted the free shipping we would have appied to the order from the next day charges and it came out to thirteen dollars."

I was both relieved and impressed by the integrity of this gentleman. I wouldn't have even questioned the actual next day charges, simply due to the fact that I believed I was a pain in the neck, and that it was something I asked him to do beyond the call of duty. He simply did it, and impressed me with his honesty.

Bottom line, if you need to do business with this gentleman, be advised that he is ABSOLUTELY Honest has integrity that is sorely lacking in an industry that has no quams about charging up the wazoo for cable products whose value is questionable at best.
I will temper my value rating since I have yet to judge the sound quality of these cables, but it goes without question as what I consider customer service and integrity. Value 3, Overall 5.

I MUST SAY MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS: 49 BUCKS, THEY MUST BE BAD!!, BOY WAS I WRONG!!, THESE CABLES OUT PERFORM EVERYTHING IVE TRIED THUS FAR WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE, THE DH LABS CABLE IS BETTER , BUT THEY COST TWICE AS MUCH. AND THEY ARE NOT TWICE AS GOOD,WITH THAT BEING SAID, I RANK THESE A CLOSE SECOND BEHIND THE DH LABS.

Strength:

Works solid - over great distance

Weakness:

can't find any

Keeping TV and DVD/CD combo 35+ feet apart to hide device from 3yr olds fingers.... worried if it was even possible (S-video as well). Some said yes, others no, BetterCables said yes - sold me 12 meter cables and ensured I would be happy - and they were right.
Sounds/looks better now than on the alt 1 meter cables.

I'm very happy with these cables! I have them connected to a Toshiba SD-2200 DVD player- has helped to produce a great range of audible sounds. All sounds seem unrestricted and without question come alive on all types of playback, CD's etc. IMHO, just as good, if not better than Monster M1000I interconnects going for $200/meter- not kidding here!! For those of you looking for a terrific performing cable, wish not to spend a bucket load of money to achieve high quality sound reproduction, do yourself a favor- check out BetterCables!

Fast, detailed and build quality

This review is for Premium Audio Interconnect (1 meter). I used it between my Musical Fidelity X-24K DAC and the Alchemist Nemesis integrated amplifer and also my ATI 506 six channel home theater amplifer. The sound is great and it is fast and extremely detailed. On connecting it to ATI amp, the sound can be quite aggresive, but it is well balanced on my Alchemist amp due to its typical laid-back, British trait. The vocal clarity is great and the high is well extended ,which are important in my case (in both amps). Low frequency is well defined and has a good impact quality. Build quality is first rate and is also extremely good looking. Customer service from Brad Marcus (BetterCable's CEO) is excellent! I am very happy with it and I would be buying more from him in future. Do give it a try! Strongly recommended!

Sounded much better than standard rca's, but i had a CD player with a cheap DAC. Found that my DVD player through a toslink was much better.(not the cables fault) New cd player on the way! But what i did discover is that its one hell of a sub cable too boot it turned the slight boominess of my AR S300 with a 300 watt sunfire amp into sheer BANG! Thats were they will stay ill be using BC toslink so i can use my Denon avr 3300's DAC, Its a good DAC. So if u need a good sub cable it is of the same construction (i believe) as the interconnects BC is were to go for all your cable needs. If it does not suit your needs just return it no questions asked !

Strength:

Tremendous soundstage, detail.

Weakness:

Extremely unforgiving of upstream equipment. Can sound harsh on some systems.

Initially, I was bowled over by this cable's detail and soundstaging. I was hearing so much more of the music that I could scarcely believe it. However, the more I listened the more I wanted to run under the couch. The sound was just too overwhelming. After trying a number of different amp/speaker combinations, I finally decided that much of the harshness I was experiencing was the fault of the cables themselves. For instance, I ran our DBS through my system and with the bettercables, the S's were exagerated and harsh. Snake became ssssssssshhhnake. Many other of the highs were equally harsh and exagerated. Frankly, I realize that DBS is not the best sound quality in the world and it is probably not fair to test cables in this manner. But the fact is I run a mid range Yamaha reciever and we do use our system for both HT and music. In the end I went to a local dealer who allowed me to audition a wide variety of other cables. I ultimately settled on Tributary SPB6BW Speaker wire and SCA 150 silver/copper interconnects. It could very well be that the Bettercables are actually "better cables" and simply revealed much of the harshness that is inherent in my midfi system. But, the fact remains that once I changed cables, the problem was eliminated. In summary, if you are running very good equipment such as Krell or McIntosh, these cables may be worth a listen. However, if you are running a mid-fi system and think that these cables sound harsh--its probably because they do. I have no axe to grind. Brad Marcus is as fine a gentleman as you can ever hope to do business with and his cables are beautiful. I wanted to fall in love with them, but couldn't. With my system they were just too harsh.

P.S. This review is also posted under Bettercables Premium Speaker wire. I found both the interconnects and speaker cables to be somewhat harsh on my system.

I replaced the Straightwire interconnect in my system with the Bettercables product after some frustration with Straightwire. I am one very happy camper!

My system consists of all Krell electronics (A/V Standard, FPB 250Mc Amps) and Wilson speakers (Watt/Puppys as L/R and Watch center and surrounds). The Bettercables are exceptional performers in this system at any price. The incredible value and customer service put the icing on the cake.
