Strength:
No distracting qualities whatsoever. Excellent, rich lows and smooth highs. But listen to more than one interconnect before you judge for yourself.
Weakness:
Plain-looking, green color. Rather stiff. Doesn't look the part. But that doesn't matter at all, once you've heard them. Perhaps it would be useful to approach this review of mine by taking into account the interconnects I was seeking at the same time as the speaker cables. The Q10s helped to end a frustrating search for a speaker cable/interconnect combination to use with my Sonus Faber/REL/Sony ES system (including the new XA-9000ES flagship CD/SACD player). For interconnects, I tried DH Labs Air Matrix, AudioQuest Jaguar and King Cobra, plus Tara Labs Prime and Reference Gen.2. Perhaps surprisingly, the much-admired Air Matrix was the least successful of the interconnects when used with the Q10s in my system. The sound was less focused than the others, with a relatively limited soundstage. The one that really seems to draw the very best from my combination is the Tara Reference Gen 2. And this isn't a slight difference! The Tara immediately gave everything an extra sparkle and fluidity. Plucked strings came alive as never before. Bass was plentiful and female voice and flute were reproduced as well as I have ever heard. Interestingly, I also auditioned Tara's Prime speaker cable, but I MUCH preferred the Q10 with the Tara interconnects. Goes to show (for me at least) that buying all cables from the same manufacturer doesn't necessarily bring the best result. The all-Tara combo sounded too lean and a little hollow at times. All this was resolved beautifully with the Q10/Tara interconnect pairing. I can truly say that I am now listening to the best, most beguiling and least tiring reproduction I have heard in my home. I am EXCEPTIONALLY pleased with this speaker cable. It seems to improve with a few days burn-in, though I'm one of those people who thinks it might be the listener who actually "burns-in" and perceives an improvement purely through becoming more accustomed to the new sounds. But my search leads me to suggest a careful selection of interconnects. Of all the variations I tried, only the one I've mentioned gave me what I was hoping to find. Dynamic with great bass, tight bass and open soundstage I rarely comment but I just built my 15 foot full range cables using WBT clamping spades and expanding bananas (added $100 to the cost). I have to say after two hours these cables amaze me. They are detailed, smooth, tight strong bass and open soundstage. I have owned Wilson Benesch Act1 speakers and $8000 tube amps and tried Audioquest Crystal, Clear3, MIT, NOdost Blue Heaven and stumbled on the Monster M2.2S, a all around great cable for the price. However, my current system stuned me after setting it up in a new room with the 15' DH Labs Q10 using the WBT's. Wow! I listened to the Blues on FM for 3 hours, my tuner never sounded so good. equipment: Magnum Dynalab MD308 Integrated Amp Sansui TU717 Tuner Audio Analogue Pagnini CD (new version) Home built power cord DH Labs Q10 with WBT connections Similar Products Used: Audioquest, MIT, Nordost, Monster M2.2S |

Strength:
Very warm , detail.
Weakness:
Not really a weakness, it looks slim, small and cheap (but it is not cheap). But look has nothing to do with sound :). WOW! What a cable. I own many speaker cables, DH Labs Q-10(biwire) is the best of them. I hear the detail which I had never heard before. I tried Monster MC-500, Monster Z1, Monster Z2 Biwire, Van Den Hul D352 Hybrid, Audioquest Slate and Audioquest Mammoth(Biwire) with my system. This Q-10 outperforms all of the cables except the Mammoth which is a lot more expensive. I was so impressed how can $385(15ft biwire) can perform equal or a little greater than $900 cable(Mammoth 12ft biwire). Now I stop changing my speaker cable, I am done :) DH Labs Q-10 rocks!!. Try it, you will love it!! Similar Products Used: AQ Slate, AQ Mammoth, Monster Z1, Monster Z2 Monster MC-500 and Van Den Hul D352 Hybrid |

Strength:
Delivers solid, full, and clear sound from yuor amplifier to your speakers.
Weakness:
The cable is a bit rigid...but its the sound that matters... Cables do make a difference! I have the DH Lab Q10 biwired to my Mission 773es and my system now sounds full and solid. A big difference from my old Monster XPHP cables, which made the music coming out from my Missions sound thin. I'm definitely happy with this product. Highly recommended ;-). Strength:
Very neutral, detailed and smooth sounding with outstanding bass definition
Weakness:
not as cool looking as some more expensive ones It is a very neutral sounding cable with expansive sound stage and smooth extended top end. There is a huge improvement in bass accuracy, imaging and midrange smoothness when it is used in a external biwire setup. There is no need to look for other cables unless you intend on using cables as tone control devices. Strength:
Clean sound, tight bass, great detail, very natural, well balanced.
Weakness:
Improvment over T-14 not probably not proportional to price increase These speaker cables take all the excellent qualities of DH Labs lower priced T-14 cables to a higher level. They also do not produce any of the T-14 high frequency brightness, often attributed to silver, that may be heard on some systems. The most impressive thing that I can say to describe these great sounding cables is this. A month after using the Q-10s I disconnected the cables and replaced them with the Audioquest Crystal cables; ones I had used for 5 years and had thought were superlative. Compared to the Q-10s, the Crystal cables produce a muddy muffled sound that lack anywhere near the level of detail and tight bass. I was shocked at the difference. very clear sound
Weakness:
I could hear no weaknesses Used with a Krell amp, Pass Labs X-0 pre-amp, Sonus Faber Extremas and Dynaudio Confidence 3 speakers, these sounded very clear despite the very long speaker cable lengths I'm presently forced to use. Similar Products Used: This is my first high-quality cable. |

Good value for the dollar; great bass booster I'm another grateful customer of Jeff's. It was his recommendation to go with the biwire Q-10 for my B&W Nautilus 804s. There have been many reviews of the 804 that complain about light bass. Well, I can tell you that these cables really bring out the lows, much better than the Monster crap I had been using on my old B&W CDM7SEs. Right now I'm listening to Natalie Cole. It seems like she and the orchestra are here in my living room. I liked these cables so much, I asked Jeff to put together biwired T-14s for my separate home theater system. My rating for these cables is emphasizing economy. I'm sure there are better cables out there, just much more expensive. If you want high-end performance without paying the high-end price, then go to Jeff at Value Audio. He'll fix you up! Similar Products Used: Monster cable |
