It's best to try it to be sure and noticed no difference in sound.

Luckely i did not re-wire my whole home stereo with this cable and only tested it on the cd player.

So i must agree with the people that say the cable is overrated! :(

Yet my home system consists out of Yamaha/Technics/JBL components maybe they are not to be considered high end?

Strength:

None. The S video 2 cable that came with are actually pretty good.

Weakness:

Listener fatigue city! If these aren't too bright for your system, then you have no business looking at upgrading cables to begin with.

I thought everyone was being a bit harsh here but my ears don't lie. There was zero depth to the music (two-dimensional, no soundstage at all) and way too bright. Extreme listener fatigue with any quality speaker. I'v never given a 1 for any product ever until now. Stay away! Buy Audioquest if on a budget; Z-cable or Tara Labs if not.

Weakness:

Turbine connectors grabbed very tightly. It made moving cables around very difficult

I may be blind and deaf, but when I replaced the cheap cables that I purchased at Radio Shack with these from Monster Cable, I COULD NOT see or hear any difference.

I certainly do not have an expensive setup, comprising of a Pioneer amplifier, Pioneer LD/CD player, Panasonic CD player, JVC tape player and a DVD player from my computer.

I fortunately only purchased one set...hence moving the cables around. Whether I used it to connect the LD player to the TV, or the CD/tape/LD-CD to amplifier, I could not detect any difference.

I would recommend that the user purchase a decent set of cables that has quality connectors and not go off the deep end, purchasing cables that have no proven engineering difference over other cheaper cables.

Weakness:

Construction

With standing performance aside, Whats it matter the solder connection broke away from both the sets I have because of the poor crimp job clamping the insulation jacket. After unscrewing the end to inspect it didnt even look as if they were crimped at all! Don't lose your reciept!

Strength:

Good bass and midrange delivery. Connections are secure but not overly tight. Great Value!

Weakness:

None to speak of.

I'm not quite sure why the other reviewers have had problems with the connections of this cable. However, my set does have the *Revision A I250* designation so perhaps they fixed that particular problem. I found the connection to be secure but not overly tight. It's quite easy to push on and pull off. No hernias here.

Since, I'd been using the "out-of-box" cable that came with my Pioneer Elite CD player for about 1 month, I was confident I would be able to detect any change in performance with the new cable. Upon hooking up the I250 cable I immediately noticed tighter and fuller bass and midrange which contributed to a much more balanced and natural sound. Excellent. A far cry from the "out-of-box" cable.

Objectively, after auditioning several Monster interlinks, including both the 300MK and 400MK I settled on the I250 for the best price/performance value. I couldn't tell one bit of difference between the I250 and 300MK. Likewise the differences between the 300MK and 400MK were indistinguishable (at least on my system). To my ears, there was slighlty better base delivery in the 400MK compared to the I250, but not nearly enough to warrant the extra cost (about twice as much).

I'm very happy with the Monster Interlink 250. It has performed up to my expectations and is exactly what I was looking for in a good interconnect. No these aren't reference cables but for the money, I think this is one of the best cables on the market today. Better than the entry level interconnects and a huge leap from the "out-of-box" junk. Unless you are a steadfast audiophile, this cable will serve you well. Highly Recommended.

Monster advertised these as "better than out-of-box cables", so expect them to be "better than out-of-box cables". If you can get these cheep, then buy a few, and use on low quality devices (such as CPU or VCR). I use a pair to connect my computer to my JVC RX-8000V.

Strength:

Cheap

Weakness:

Poor connections and soldering job

These cables broke on me about a month into using them. Granted I plug, unplug, replug etc multiple times per day. I inspected the soldering and cable quality of the cables to see exactly how these cables could break when my others don't.

Answer is poor soldering job, and really thin wires used. This cable does not have what it takes to withstand above normal wear and tear. It might be fine if you intend to just plug it in and use it like that indefinitely.

The replacement series is built at least 10 times more robust. Don't buy these cables! You will regret it.

I've resoldered them myself and I did a much better job of it. So far they are holding up.

Strength:

Delivers a much clearer and cleaner sound also improves dialogue when watching movies.

Weakness:

none yet

I just purchased the Interlink 250 this past Monday and I was automatically impressed with the sound and picture these cables produced. I have it connected to my Sony 725 receiver and the Sony 330 Dvd the picture is as crystal clear as it can get and my rears have definetely came back to life these cables create a excellent soundfeild that I did not think was there before so if your setup needs a shot in the arm I recommend this package.

How can these be the worse cables ever I totally disagree!!

Strength:

none

Weakness:

bright sound, poor

Have been using this cable for a week now with not good results. It runs hot (harsh) and soundstage is not improved over standard cable.

I did try the IL 400 and the soundstage was much better, but it also ran hot (yes, my system is a little bright sounding, but these cables made it worse).

Strength:

marketing .. but honestly the S-video wasn't that bad... the cable sucks

Weakness:

I don't feel like typing that long....

WHat the hell was I thinking ... I think sometimes we as consumers tend to convince ourselves that we actually like a product esp when we feel like we don't really feel like we got our money's worth.. This cable produced nothing but ovvver exagerrated highs with no midrange..

My ears have matured dont get this interconnect for your HT setup you will regret it.
