Love this product. I was a doubter. Didn't think cables eould make that big of a difference. Boy was I wrong! Everything looks much clearer on my 120" screen. I'm just sorry it took me so long to bite the bullet and buy these babies.

I also liked the continual updates via e-mail and responses from Brad Marcus.

The cables looks sweet too.

Strength:

Solid, true 75ohm connectors; flexible jacket; clean looking design;

Weakness:

None that I have found

I am using an HTPC with a Dish Networks 6000 HDTV receiver. For standard NTSC viewing I use S-video in on my ultra-sensitive to noise capture card. These cables had the least amount of interference of any cables I have tried.

Good Picture and good customer service

I bought Sony DVD player last Dec. I used a generic S-Video
cable bought from Wal Mart. (It was Philips made in China)
The picture was good but not perfect.
I then bought Monster II and Monster III cables from BestBuy
and tried to find a good Video performance. The picture was
slightly better but I do not think that It would be worth
the money. I switch back to generic cable again.
After reading a lot of positive reviews on audioreview.com
I bought the S-Video cable from bestcable.com. The customer
service is very good. I had a lot of bad experiences of
internet purchasing before, I was very happy this time.
The value of the cable was good also compared to Monster II
and Monster III cables. I gave it 5 stars. The performance:
1) The color was Vivid. It was richer than Monster cable.
2) Video depth is better than Monster cable. I could see
more details in the video.
3) However, it was not sharp enough. There was not big
difference bettwen generic cable and this cable at the
issue. ( I have SONY 27'' TV) I can understand why some
reviewers mentioned that they can not see much better
performance of this cable.

I have one suggestion for bestcable.com. I noticed that
there was 'Silver Serpent S-Video Cable' aviliable now.
I think that it is new products and should have better
performance. If you can let the customer to upgrade the
new cable at discount price by returning the old cable
It would be great.
For the money, it is a very good cable.

Great shielding

I live in a high rise building and used to experience much ghosting on regular cable. I wanted the best picture possible from my DVD, so I shopped aroung for an S-Video cable. The reviews for the Better Cables S-Video cable were great, so I ordered one. The results are there is no interference at all. Thanks.

Value, and build quality. Top notch.

Believe the hype. For the same price as average to middling cables, you get so much more. I am nobodies AV expert, and if I could tell a difference between the bettercables S-video and my old Monster cable, it must be remarkably better. I noticed that the black levels were much deeper, and the other colors seemed to be a lot richer (Mission Impossible 2). For the price you simple have nothing to lose. Give them a shot, you will be glad you did.

Interesting woven-plastic sheathing makes these cables easy to pull through the manufactured holes in entertainment center furniture.

2 worthwhile comments about this product:

#1: A general "buy good cables" plug
- Got some of these S-video cables to replace no-name cables between my Hitachi DVD player, Denon receiver & Panasonic TV. The difference in transmission quality was so great that I actually had to TURN DOWN the output sharpness of my DVD player after installing them (I had originally turned the sharpness up to make the picture look respectable with the old cables).
Anyway, picture quality improved dramatically with the BetterCables. So YES, I believe that there is a difference with higher quality cables.

#2: BetterCables offers good customer service
- Unfortunately, one of the cables I purchased was dead on arrival. I emailed Brad Marcus about the problem, & he *immediately* responded to my complaint, after which a hassle-free exchange was negotiated. Expect good customer service from this man.

like already said for 75 ohm coaxial what better cables make is state of the art.
This is not a go go product and this is real value for money.
You need to have it in yr system .For a couple of hundred dollars you transform yr installation at the top.

I was actually just looking for a shorter run of my current Monster cable and happened to stumble upon the reviews listed here. I checked out the site, emailed Brad and then called him to ask a few more questions. Within a few days the new cable arrived.

I used Matrix as the picture tends to be on the darker side and the colors were not as vivid. I wanted to see if Brad's cable would make any difference. After a few scenes, little details started to stand out. Colors that I never noticed were now there. I'm no video expert, but if I can see a difference, anyone can.

Thanks Brad for a great cable at the fraction of my old Monster Silver.

Strength:

Vivid and sharper picture details along with richer color reproduction.

Weakness:

Takes 1 to 2 weeks to get after you order.

I have to say like a lot of others on here I was very skeptical on whether a similarly priced to the Monster S-Video cable would make that much of a diffence to the picture quality on my 50" Mitsubishi rear projector TV.

In 4 words: "I WAS TOTALLY WRONG"!

The diffences JUST BLEW ME AWAY! NIGHT AND DAY!!! It was just like that ole saying "I once was blind and now I SEE!", the enhancements to image details and richer colors are just AWESOME! It now feels like I was blind before watching TV with the Monster Cable I didn't realize how much I was missing! My TV viewing has now whole new fresh perspective! Its like I've had a paradigm shift!

The colors especially red are so much warmer and enriched that they almost glow! I didn't know how much more red, red could get! Image details along with graphic and lettering stand out so much more partly due to enhanced borders. Watching live or high quality broadcasts on my 18" Digital Dish I boosted the contrast levels almost to max, which gives me a semi-3D effect on foreground images.
Doing this with the Monster Cable would give me a washed-out smudge effect around image borders.

The decision on whether to get the Better Cable is a "NO BRAINER"! Especially if you have a big screen and are viewing digital images (DVD, DBS) and considering that they are competively priced with Monster!! But there just is no comparing the quality of the Better Cable to that of the Monster! You could say the Better Cable "Just Kills" the Monster! I will now look to sell my Monster Cable to a less educated consumer (like I was until a few weeks ago)! Any takers here??!! LOL!! :)

I also got their Ultra Coax Digital Cable for my DVD audio which I CAN'T WAIT TO TEST TONIGHT!!! I'll give a report after I play around with it a bit!
