For a remote control, go to your apps on your Android/IPhone and download SURE app. That should do it for for your remote control unless you want to buy one.

Strength:

The digital output offered on this low price CD changer makes this product great. Another good feature is the ability to change CD's while listening to one.

Weakness:

No power switch on the remote, but who cares, just plug it into your reciever and your all set with this cd player

This is a great cd player sony has made for the price, the cd's change a little slow, and there isn't any power switch on the remote, but the rest is all good. I paid 150 for this product and still got digital outputs, and the capability of changing cd's while i'm still listening to one. Well worth my money.

Strength:

Good value, digital output, user-friendly controls

Weakness:

Average D/A Converter (not important if you connect via TOSlink), slow shuffle mode

I bought this one for my home theater system. My better CD player stays upstairs in my listening room. This Sony is a good value if you plan to use the optical digital connection to a good digital receiver. After installing, I was able to compare the analog to the digital out by switching back and forth on the receiver input (Yamaha 4150 Receiver). The optical option is the best way to go, but with this method, it was on par with my Denon 360 (Stereophile recommended but discontinued unit) analog connection on my more serious 2-channel audio system. The D/A converter in the Sony player is average and muddied up the sound when compared to the digital out. The button user interface is very good and easy to program or control particular discs in the 5-disk carousel tray. You do not have to rely on the remote. Also good readout information when placing discs in the tray, unlike my Denon. In summary, a very good (above average sound) player if you opt for the optical connection. 5 stars for value, 4 for overall due to average D/A converter.

Strength:

Ultra-reliable so far; I've had it over 2 years now. Optical-out so I can hook it up to my Minidisc.

Weakness:

A little noisy when changing discs (but who cares), No power on the remote, will sometimes get "stuck on one disc during All-disc random mode.

No complaints. I got this during an exchange when I took a Pioneer 100+1 changer back to Bestbuy for the third time (the doors on all three kept jamming after four or five days). Apparently some people hate the megastorage models while others love 'em...but my next foray into the jukebox thing will be with another brand. No power on the remote, what the hell were they thinking! And as I stated above, it has a tendency to occasionally get stuck on one disc while on all-disc random mode, at least until all the songs on the disc are through playing. This happens very rarely, so it's something I can deal with. One cool thing is the disc exchange mode, which allows you to change all the other discs while one is playing. Four the money, I've got no beef with it...

Strength:

Great sound, price, optical output

Weakness:

cannot power on/off with a remote, carousel is noisy and slow, "random all-disc" mode is more like "random 1-disc" mode

This is a good cd player for someone with a budget, great price, sounds good.

However, the carousel is a little bit slow when skipping between discs. The digital output is a "thumbs-up" and is necessary(at least I think so).

Strength:

good value
disc exchange feature is useful when it works properly

Weakness:

disc exchange feature in the last while has caused the disc that is playing to skip - this is really frustrating

no power off feature on the remote - which makes absolutely no sense

has all of the right bells and whistles from a utility point of view
great price

when this puppy gets old, it may start to skip - also, I lost a CD inside the machine and had to dismantle it to recover the disc - kinda strange

the track skipping when doing the disc exchange is quite irritating - don't know how to address this issue - any comments ?

Weakness:

remote sucks, unit shuffles discs whenever turned on

This is a great player, will work well for playing CD's on a budget. This player is especially nice if you have invested most of your money elswhere in your system.

I bought this CD player and was not impressed with its sound quality. Bass, mid-range, and treble all sounded "dull", music does
not come alive on this player. My previous player was a single disk
Onkyo DX-702 which I bought about 9 years ago for $200. I did a test
by switching the RCA outs of my Onkyo and the Sony with an audio switch
while playing an identical CD in each player just to confirm that there
really was a significant difference. I did not test the Sony digital
output, that may be better. I never believed there was a big audio
difference between CD players, but now I do. I'm taking this CD player
back to the store for a refund. :)
