Strength:
GREAT headphones, superb sound and extremely comfortable
Weakness:
Why is Sennheiser discontinuing them for the 590 and 600 Best headphones available for the money. You can spend more than $200 on other headphones, but why would you want to do so. |

Strength:
Excellent audio frequency response, very defined, clear sound. Great and defined bass. Really comfy
Weakness:
Two sided inputs, one sided would have been nice Just received these headphones a couple days ago and they're the best audio investment that I've ever made. Superb, clear, defined sound and VERY comfortable headphones. I was very satisfied with their condition even though they are refurbished. Who says these phones don't have bass?!! They have deeper and more defined bass than any other headphones that I've ever listened to. Similar Products Used: KOSS R80, KOSS TD75, Sony reference headphones |

Strength:
Clean, crisp sound and imaging. Very comfortable and enjoyable to listen to for prolonged periods of time.
Weakness:
Rather large I picked up these headphones with the DSP Pro for only $129 on ubid. I have been pretty much listening to them non stop for about a week. I am really satisfied with these phones so far. The sound is crisp and clear and you can hear the minute details in a recording. The imagining is also excellent. However, I noticed these seem to lack the fullness of sound. Most likely this is due to the lack of an amplifier on my part. Regardless, they still sound better than anything I have ever listened to. With the DSP Pro for only $129, I can't complain. Try the grados for close sound at a substantially lower price point. Similar Products Used: Grado sr60, Sennhieser 570 |

Strength:
Very open. Extremely helpful customer service.
Weakness:
Bad ear piece connection; however, see text. I have used these with a Musical Fidelity X-Cans headphone amp with X-PSU power supply. Source component is Rega Planet all connected with Kimber PBJ interconnects. |

Strength:
absolute tonal accuracy... full frequency response.
Weakness:
The money I'll be spending on binaural recordings. As comfortable as headphones can be, but still less comfortable than nothing. Instead of gushing about all the usual audiophile stuff... I will just say that after buying these phones I don't care if I ever listen to speakers again. A true listening revelation for me. I've spent the last year spending a pile of money building a speaker-based system that I truly love, and these headphones simply blow it away. All music sounds wonderful through them- classical sounds particularly glorious. These headphones have single-handedly converted me from an audiophile back to a music lover- I'm falling in love with Handel and Bach all over again. The DSP pro is terrible for music (as you would expect), but for home theater it is no more atrocious than a 5.1 setup and possibly better. The unit does fairly well as a headphone amp without the processor turned on , although not as well as my DIY headphone amp. Similar Products Used: Grado 125, my old Koss closed phones |

Strength:
Great audio quality
Weakness:
A little hot after a while I've carefully compared this headphone to all the other models currently available, but this one had just the best price - performance ratio. In comparisation to my older HD-530 II, this one has overall a better quality. Similar Products Used: Sennheiser HD-530 II, Sony MDR700 |

Strength:
clear crisp highs. and smooth bass
Weakness:
can we use cheaper looking cables? i know i should only concern about sound quality, but i feel like i'm going to pull these cables (threads) right apart. i do like it's incredible length however. the sound quality is superb, beaten only by electrostats. comfort is a plus. |

Strength:
Comfort and overall smooth, detailed sound.
Weakness:
With all the smooth, not enough aggression. I purchased the HD 580s to help me survive four weeks off my feet due to surgery. The sound was total bliss: smooth, detail, deep bass, etc plus comfort. But, then I realized that my discman was set at "more bass." I lost some slam and gained more smooth and clean. The HD 580s work best with classical music and acoustic jazz. Strength:
Incredible detail, the most confortable headphones I've ever used.
Weakness:
None I just got this headphones a few days ago from a YAHOO SpiderGear auction for $107 with free S/H. For the price you can't get better headphones. I also owned the Sony MDR-7506 Pro's and the sound quality difference is huge, the 580 are in a whole different level. Even when using my portable discman, with no amp. Strength:
Simply sounds wonderful
Weakness:
Cable connectors at earphone end have been loose on occasion I recently paired my 580s with a Creek OBH-11 headphone amp. The 580s were very good connected directly to the headphone jack on my Denon 370 CD player; now they're spectacular. Bass is strong, treble is revealing while retaining an airy sound, and the mids sing. Highly recommended. Similar Products Used: Koss, Yamaha, Sony, others |
